It appears there was some debate over whether or not this movie counts. Since part of it obviously takes place during the holidays (with the decorating of the tree and the whole "snow" thing), I decided to count it. It also has a Christmas feeling to it.
5. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993, Blu-ray)
Without even really realizing (or planning) it, I did a "Tim Burton-A-Thon". After Edward Scissorhands, my daughter requested Pee Wee's Big Adventure, which we watched some of as we got ready to go out. Then the next night, we watched Beetlejuice.

While not a movie or a TV show, this Winter Classic only happens once a year... ON New Years. And it probably won't return to Chicago anytime soon.
37. The Office - "Moroccan Christmas"* (2008, DVR, NBC-HD)
Never got to this one before Christmas and we had some episodes of The Office on our DVR that we needed to get through. This was one of them.
38. Ghostbusters II (1989, DVD)
Not your typical New Years movie, but I haven't seen it in a while. I actually had Trading Places and 200 Cigarettes waiting in the queue, but never got to them. Maybe next year.
