Wii questions & request for recommendations
Im going to get a Wii for the family for the holidays & wanted to know what exactly comes in the box? I see on Amazon, you can buy the Wii but it looks like the remote comes separately? What about the nunchuk? Seems like the Wii Sports is the only game it comes with - I was thinking of also getting Super Mario Galaxy, what do people think of that? My 7 & 4 1/2 years olds (in addition to me & my wife) will be the ones playing it... Id appreciate any recommendations! I personally like platform/action games (Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Tomb Raider, Ratchet & Clank).
Thanks!
Thanks!

So if you're buying it for the whole family, you'll need to spend a lot on extra remotes.

I gave my Wii away to a friend. I was looking for a more standard platform with a normal controller and so on. Wii Sports was great. Also, Excite Truck was probably my fav. (great multi-player). The best part of Excite Truck was that you could load up an SD card with mp3s and it uses that as the soundtrack. I assume xbox360 or ps3 have something similar one way or another. Either way, if you have hdtv, you'll need the component cables. If you buy Wii Play (more multi-player games)then you get a remote with it.

Yeah, I'd make sure to get a component cable if your TV supports it, HDTV or not. It would make a big difference over the included composite. Monoprice has them for very reasonable prices. I'd post a link, but they're undergoing maintenance right now.
Edit - here it is: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2
They have a gray one too, if that matters.

I'm not a big fan of the Wii myself, but I've owned one since the day it was first released.
I highly recommend getting Mario Kart, Super Mario Strikers Charged, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy. Galaxy is an AMAZING game.
