SNL 11/01/08 - H: Ben Affleck - MG: David Cook (rumored guest Sen. John McCain)

This is Ben's 4th time hosting (once in '00 and twice in '04), so it seems appropriate that he host again in '08.

David Cook (American Idol: Season 7's Winner) will be the musical guest.

According to this thread, Republican Presidential Candidate Senator John McCain may pop up sometime tonight... as himself.

09/13/08 - H: Michael Phelps - MG: Lil Wayne
09/20/08 - H: James Franco - MG: Kings of Leon
09/27/08 - H: Anna Faris - MG: Duffy
10/04/08 - H: Anne Hatahway - MG: The Killers
10/18/08 - H: Josh Brolin - MG: Adele
10/25/08 - H: Jon Hamm - MG: Coldplay
11/01-08 - H: Ben Affleck - MG: David Cook

A toolbox who should remain behind the camera. A talentless musician. And a doddering sellout who would rather lose his legacy than lose this election.

Thanks, but I'll pass.

I think Affleck is an underrated actor. Once he stopped accepting movie scripts based solely on the pay checks he did OK. His last couple movies were actually good, and the work he did with Kevin Smith is really good.

I'd like to see what he does on this episode. My concern he's going to get saddled with bad writing. He has difficulty in making the best of bad writing...he's certainly no Bill Murray...and he's really only as good as the script/director he works with.

Agreed.

Affleck's Baldwin and Olberman are great.

Casey's Jennifer Aniston was pretty good too... better than Armisen's Joy.

... and on Nov 15... Paul Rudd and Beyonce.

As someone who is a Keith Olberman fan, I laughed my ass off at Affleck. That was a great fucking skit.

David Cook has the same generic rock sound as Nickelback.

At first when the Chuck Norris commercial came on, I was thinking that it was going to be some kind of SNL paraody that he agreed to do. After 15 secs, I realize I was wrong Not funny.
