Most new releases are on Tuesdays... But it really depends a lot on the bookstore. They've got the books ahead of time, so it's just a matter of when they put them out. (And release dates are notoriously flexible in publishing.)
I don't know specifically about HCC -- but I assume they fluctuate even more, given that their book club sends them out to subscribers well in advance of the bookstore distribution.
