Got my package today and I feel I hit the jackpot, all things considered. Got the Pulse UR WS, Scary Movie 4 FS and Breaking and Entering WS. Better than $3 titles at Big Lots!

Lol, touche. However, I was dreading the possibility of anything "Foxworthy" entering my home

Was happy to have received:

Breaking and Entering
Pulse
Scary Movie 4 FS

Guess it paid to order mine a little later in that I didn't get any Matrix films (which I didn't want). Also glad to have not received the Foxworthy DVD. In fact if I had to pick 3 from the ones being received by folks, I might have preferred Junction Boys instead of Scary Movie, but that's about it.

I get over-ordering on major titles the Matrix films, Scary Movie, ...even Pulse.

But how the hell did they wind up with so much overstock of stuff like "Jeff Foxworthy's Comedy Classics"?? Somebody at Family Video had WAAAAAAY to much faith in the selling power of unfunny redneck comedy! lol

...and Junction Boys? Breaking and Entering? not exactly high-demand titles they needed to stock up on!

I am guessing they may have bought stock on "soon to be out of print" titles at a superb bulk rate and thought they could dump them off using the "mystery title" formula. Of course I am only speculating and could be wrong.

I'd guess the same thing. They buy them in bulk for a quarter or less, then pass them off on suckers like us.

^ Of course, as someone else mentioned, I bought 3 titles for $2.97 before tax...and they spent $2.88 to ship them to me. They'd have to be buying titles in a pretty large number to make any profit on these.

Most of the ones they sold were probably without the free shipping, I would guess.

Same 3 here. I also got Pulse in my first batch, but that one was a floater. So at least this one is a keeper. I'll unload the floater somehow...

some times it is more profitable to not pay storage space on dead product...

Agreed. I am sure they didn't anticipate the free shipping situation because 1 per household wouldn't have qualified. However, since they did honor multiple disc orders, and still gave free shipping on 3 discs, I think they should be commended for customer service.

I've said several times that I don't think you'll find better customer service than dealing with the folks at familyvideo.com....especially compared with any other online (or B&M for that matter) retailer.
