I agree with cinemaphile, but instead of hiding the disks, just go ahead and buy them. You can always come back and price adjust. I usually buy the disks a week ahead of time and then come back when the lower ad prices are in effect and get the price adjusted with no problem.

Is there a solid published price adjust policy at CC that they have to adhere to? I've considered doing it that way before, but I'm afraid I'll get some a-hole employee who won't do it for me, and I'll be out the additional $$.

...and do you bring in the discs or just the receipt?

yeah, thats the other alternative. just ignore CC and take their ad somewhere else where its not on sale (and therefore not in high demand) and price match it.

I guess it just depends on the retail place. I agree, I always have the hardest time at CC.

At one retail store I worked at, when there was product on sale for a weekly, we would get MORE of that product in the week before to prepare. I know a couple retail stores in particular that run like that.

Though there are some retail stores that run sales like the $4.99 one that don't get more of the product in, they are forced to just pull what they have for the sale.

at my local store they have it posted right behind the register. If you are worried about being out the money, don't open it. If they refuse...return it and then buy it again. that would be pretty ridiculous and unexpected tho, imo.

Did any of you guys find Silence of the Lambs for $4.99? Is it the collector's edition? Thank you.

it was at my local store, but they also put NotLD 40th in last week when it was supposed to be 90/Savini version...so...no telling if that was right.

I think the old MGM version is the one pictured in the ad.

If I'm not mistaken the Collector's Edition was on sale last week at CC for $7.49 (as stated by old end caps at my local CC)

My local CC didn't have many of the $4.99/6.99 titles left today. Though I was lucky I found the last copy of The Texas Chainsaw (2004) SE, to replace the busted one I got via Ebay early in the week.

Wonder if my local CC did that as well. I already have the Millennium disc but for $5, I would've picked up the new 40th. Didn't find any copies today.

This week it's *SUPPOSED* to be the 40th actually (which made my "but they were all in the 4.99!" last week hilariously pointless--though effective then).
I've got the Millennium disc, too--grabbed this at 4.99 last week tho for the same reason you'd consider it I imagine.

So: CC should have it OFFICIALLY at 4.99 this week.
(as you can see if you click that link I put in)

Left the store dissappointed AGAIN. Went in to purchase THE STRANGERS, CASINO ROYALE (3-DISC) AND THE INCREDIBLE HULK (3-DISC) and the only title they had availible was THE STRANGERS.

whenever they have sales like these, they do have a lot of copies actually, its just that by 1 pm, most people have already stopped by. I've been to circuit city on sundays real early then again when they are closing and the difference is night and day... basically when it comes to 4.99 titles go on Sunday in the morning or you're gonna be out of luck.

I don't know why I still buy from these guys. Yesterday my wife & I made a quick stop for the TDK DVD+R spindle on sale this week. No cashier lines were open so I went to the Gestapo customer service. A ten buck purchase and I needed to flash a photo ID along with my credit card...both of which were examined very closely. I asked if they'd had an increase in fraud lately, and he responded "I'm the Manager and it's My Policy." Hey, no argument. But try a friendly smile, dude. This store (#3139-Minnetonka, MN.) serves upscale zip codes on the Twin Cities' west side...not the inner city. Fortunately there's a Best Buy within spitting distance.

I made sure to fill out the online "Customer First" survey accurately.
It be a kick if I won a $1,000 gift card.
