Is it just coincidence that Tommy Lee Jones gave two of his absolute BEST performances while working in Andrew Davis films - "Under Siege" in 1992 and "The Fugitive" in 1993?

I don't know if it was the script material, or Davis' influence, but before these two movies, Tommy Lee Jones was a good actor. After these two movies, he was great.

I'm not going to knock his performances in Under Siege and The Fugative but he has done better work, including all the above and Cobb.

Under Siege was average. JFK was a great performance. Also, Natural Born Killers. So his OliverStone stuff has been far better.

I haven't seen his work in that many other movies, but let's not underestimate his work in The Fugitive. And U.S. Marshals is weak, but in all honesty I felt Jones gave just as good a performance in that reprising the same character. In fact, if the movie had been up to Jones' performance, it might have been a better movie -- he certainly layers on more stuff based on the events of the original in ways the movie never dreams of.

Has nobody seen the Amazing HEAVEN AND EARTH. One of Oliver Stones best (and most underrated) works.
Jones is amazing in this film as well. He should have got a supporting Oscar for that one even though he might qualify for lead actor. Not really sure about that.
Still if you havn't seen this one check it out. A fantastic film and one of the most rewatchable war films I have ever seen.

This is an AIP film, so I assume MGM has the rights? A bit later than most of their Midnite Movies, but it could conceivably be released as part of that line. Available to watch online at Netflix.
