Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD ('98 Hasselhoff TV movie) - 9/30 Best Buy Exclusive

Thought I'd point out for those that didn't check out Speedy's latest Best Buy ad posting (thanx for those Speedy!)
On September 30, 2008 Best Buy will exclusively have the 1998 TV movie Nick Fury: Agent of SHIELD on DVD. For those that don't know, Nick Fury is a Marvel Comics character and he was played by David Hasselhoff. I'm a Marvel whore, so I'm going to have to get it.

I haven't seen anything about it coming out anywhere else. Has there ever been a DVD that was released exclusively at one store and never released elsewhere, or will it most likely get a wide release at some point?

I remember the movie being laughably bad back in the day so are some of you guys just picking it up for nostalgia or because you like it?

Off-topic, but I remember being in a movie theater back in the 90s and seeing a movie poster with Captain America's shield on it and subsequently wondering why I never saw anything else on it...

Once upon a time, long, long ago before "Blade" ever graced the screen, this was, believe it or not, the best Marvel movie. Top of the heap. I saw it again a few years ago, and while it hasn't aged well, it still has it's moments (helicarrier!!!). And I gotta say, Hasselhoff wasn't bad in the part! Granted, he's no Sam Jackson, but still, who knew? The woman who plays the villain is unfortunately pretty lousy.

Any mention of extras on the DVD?

Never heard of this. Would like to rent first but being a BB exclusive, wonder if it will come out for rental down the line.

What about the Fantastic Four film from the 90's? Or was it the late 80's?

A few years back Best Buy had exclusive rights to some WB owned Cannon films. Most of which were Chuck Norris flicks from the 90's. Not sure if this is still the case.

It will never be released. Or very doubtful it will ever be released. Though at this point, I don't see the harm in it. Two big budget films have already come out, it wouldn't confuse too many people. Fox could make a decent buck putting it out, as the curiosity factor alone would sell it.

I admit this is tempting. But if I get this, I'll probably feel like I need to get Man-Thing and and Lightspeed. Why do I feel the urge to arbitrarily add to a comic book movie collection.

I'm afraid this will be standard DVD only.

Perhaps in the future it'll be ported over to Blu-Ray.
