Post Your CD Collection

I did a search and the thread I found died 4 years ago. I only got red Xs for most of the pictures so it's time to birth a new thread.

I come here to post quick quips, not write novels. This would take forever, and I've only got around 600-700 CDs. Good luck to whomever decides to take on this task.

This also got me thinking we really need a DVDSpot-esque CD collection site.

do you want photos of a CD collection, or do you seriously want people to list their entire collection? if it's the former, i think a better way to start the thread would be to show yours first

to properly start off the thread

due to the fact that its a cell pic, your not going to get any details, thats mainly the stuff i don't listen to too much anymore. I have another rack, but due to lack of light, i can't really take the pic.

I'll have to try and remember to take a pic. And actually, I *do* have my entire collection typed up. I started my list over ten years ago because I was having a hard time remembering what I had on what format. But I doubt anyone would want to read through a few thousand cds and hundreds of tapes and records.

I really like how the shelves are a part of the wall.

lol I'd probably have to stand on a chair just to get a cd from the top row. of course I was only kidding about there being only 150 cds. there's probably 150 in the first few rows. What are the little red marks spread throughout the collection? Do you have it arranged alphabetically? If so, I hope you don't get any new ABBA anytime soon
what kind of music do you have in there?

They are called built-in shelves.

And, they look fantastic.

hey the cd in the second row from the left, fifth row from the top, 7th cd from the left...yeah I have that one too

man that is quite a collection you have there! I think if I were to put all of my new cds (ones that I've bought recently and been keeping in the jewel cases) in your stand, I'd have about 3 rows filled

how do you like the Creedence box set? aww, and I see you must have gone out and gotten the 30th Anniversary of Billy's Stranger. I got that set from Best Buy last week. I'm not familiar with any of Billy's older albums...older being everything before Storm Front lol but I have his greatest hits 3 and The Essential Collection and I love them! I also got the My Lives box set but I haven't opened it yet.

Do you have any imports Hollow?

lol I would throw myself against the stand to try and prevent any of the cds from crashing to the floor.

From the first time I saw it in a different thread, I've had Tallguyme's setup as my eventual plan as well.

These were incredibly easy to make. Fit along the wall in my man cave. DVDs to the left. Needed two pics to get the all in the picture. Of course I have run out of space so I am constantly getting rid of CDs as my tastes seem to be 'maturing'. I believe I have a little less than 1,000.

which is why these shelves come with a way to attach them to the wall in back.

a few, but i only shell out extra money for an import if there was a reason that edition was superior to a domestic release (or lack thereof).

I have my cd collection in nearly every room of the house, it would be pointless and embarrassing to see how and where I put all my CD's.

I need to get a life but it's not going to be listing all my CDs. I have over 3000 CDs (been collecting since 1988) but I have slowed down buying them since 2001 (when I put my attention to DVDs - which I have over 800 of now).

About 2/3 of my collection:

Soundtracks, classical, New Age, and miscellaneous had to get moved to other shelves as I ran out of room.

CDPedia says my total collection is 708 CDs, but I need to make sure all the soundtracks and classical albums are really in there.

I've started using the Amazon Media Library as my online cataloging tool, it's mostly complete: Amazon CD Library

you probably should have just moved them out to the garage...in a dark corner where no one else can see them

j/k thanks for your picture and the link to your library
