"Lost Boys: The Tribe" ...7/29/08

Thought people would like to know that the direct to DVD sequel to the legendary "The Lost Boys" will be released with both of the Corey's participation contrary to Haim's crying on "The Two Corey's"

I sure as heck won't be buying this one blindly. It has me very intrigued however.

Here's the description from Netflix

After their parents die in a car accident, Chris Emerson (Tad Hilgenbrink) and his sister, Nicole (Autumn Reeser), move in with their quirky Aunt Jillian in her California beach town. Soon Nicole falls for a local surfer, who, unbeknownst to her, is also a vampire. Now Chris finds himself battling the whole gang of vampire surfers in an effort to rescue his sister. Corey Feldman and Corey Haim co-star in this sequel to 1987's Lost Boys.
Sounds almost like a remake rather than a sequel...

EDIT: Both Netflix and IMDB say both Coreys are in it.

"The Lost Boys" is one of my favorite movies. I'm very hesitant about this one, but I think I'm gonna blind-purchase it. I mean even if its horrible, its something the completist in me is gonna want.

They are.

Spoiler:
MTV had an article about 5 or 6 weeks ago revealing Haim's participation. The producers were trying to keep it under wraps because he apparently appears as a vampire in the flick. Jamison Newlander (the other Frog brother) is in this one in a similar role according to the article.

Personally, I'm looking forward to this one.

I really want to think this is going to be an awesomely bad movie that's a ton of fun to watch, but I fear the reality is it's just another DTV piece of shit with some washed up talent.

But if I could find it for under $10 I'm sure I'd get it.

Autumn Reeser mentioned she was working on this movie on her myspace site several months ago. I think she started working on this a few months after The OC was cancelled. I'm a fan of hers, so I will give this a rental for sure.

You'd have to poke both my eyes out for me to buy this blindly. Are we that desperate to own a sequel to Lost Boys. Guess so.

Well, I'm holding out for Basic Instinct 3: Even More Pussy Fur, Towering Inferno 2: The Fire Wasn't Really Out, and The Howling 9: My Dog Is A Werewolf, which will be even better.

I think I'll simply re-watch the original (a favorite of mine) and pretend I never heard about this "sequel".

I fell for this direct to DVD "sequel" crap before with Roadhouse 2. I'll wait for reviews.
