Just saw this, really loved it. I had chills seeing Jet and Jackie on screen together

Overall the cast was very strong. The american kid was actually pretty good and not annoying at all. The two females in the cast were stunning and just plain cool.

the story wasn't anything unique but just having Jackie and Jet together gave it an epic feel

I'd love to see Jackie and Jet team up again in a modern setting action film.

I'd give it a 4 out of 10. I wish I would have known it was a kids movie before seeing it. I didn't get a chance to see any previews for it. Also, fight scenes usually bore me because 99% of the time I know who is going to win the fight from the start. The white boy was well cast. I think he was supposed to be annoying and awkward. The redeeming part of the movie for me was the boy being sent to a different world. I alway enjoy movies where someone is sent to a different world or time.

I really didn't like this one and found myself skipping parts

I specially don't like magic crap or using cables, so I guess this movie was not for me from the start.

How can you skip through a movie that's still in theaters?

I hate fantasy. Totally hate it. The only fantasy I've ever liked is Harry Potter books/movies and LOTR movies (can't get through 10 pages of the books). So I was a bit turned off by the fantasy at first, but a movie with Jackie Chan and Jet Li is just too cool. I got over the fantasy aspect and enjoyed the movie. I'd watch it again. I'll try to catch it again before it leaves the theaters. In fact, the more I relive it the more I'm enjoying it. The fantasy actually got fun at the end, and I liked Prince Caspian too. I might give -good- fantasy a try again in the future.

This movie rocked and exceeded my expections. Will watch it again at the theater for sure.

My gf and I saw this opening weekend and we both had a great time. I totally get why they used the kid -- for a lot of us, like myself, when we were young ... that would be our fantasy, being pulled into a world like that, getting to live out the movies we loved.

Remember, while he was taught the precepts of kung fu, and became quite capable, he was still only able to take out minions ... the bosses kicked his butt. :P I like that about it -- the kung fu masters were the masters, it wasn't a karate kid thing where he was a black belt in a week.

I finally rented this yesterday and wish I hadn't waited so long to see it. It was a whole lot of fun and the kid didn't bother me at all (though I went tinto the movie expecting to hate him).

The fight between Chan and Li was great and I too love that the kid could only take on minions. Although he grew and learned from his experience, he didn't suddenly become this big badass over the course of the film.

I look foward to the next time Chan and Li work together.

Just watched this from Netflix. First, I really enjoyed the film. Very entertaining. I'd give it a 7.5/10. The blu-ray picture quality is absolutely gorgeous. I give that a 10/10.

Liked it as well although I think the film woulda been infinitely better if Yeun Ping had actually directed. I hated the stupid slow-motion and overly obvious wirework in the fights. Everyone knows Li and Chan can be much more fluid and lightning fast.

I saw this last week and thought it was delightful. I didn't expect much going in, but boy I loved it.

I just watched my Blockbuster copy in Bluray

Pros: decent film, excellent picture in HD, good sound stage, great action sequences and fights

Cons: couldn't make up it's mind between being a kids fantasy film or a real action movie with broad appeal, wire work was a little too obvious in some parts, I didn't have a problem with the lead being white but he was a weak actor to carry a flick with these great fighters.

maybe a B-

Re: Did anyone else love THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM?

Just got to see this. Enjoyable movie. It kept reminding me of Sky High (which I also enjoyed a lot). Same star goes through the same 'growth'. And the 'hero moments' are just as strong as Sky High's. The energy, which is what really makes the movie, was similar in both, also. It's like - instead of superheroes, it was kung-fu-fantasy.

A little less 'full' than I thought it would be. It was kind of small for Jackie Chan and Jet Li. It certainly fits with the kung-fu-fantasy genre. Just a little to quick and zippy.
