ASTERIX animated films: France just released remastered English/Anamorphic DVDs
Citel Video (France) just released remastered anamorphic, English Stereo DVDs of Asterix The Gaul, Asterix & Cleopatre, and 12 Tasks of Asterix.
I bought all three and I can confirm, all have excellent anamorphic video quality. The video is really crisp and the colors really pop. Maybe now I can appreciate the films better with better video quality. It's still the same funny English stereo audio, which I don't think is a big deal. No extras, No English subtitles, but they also have the original French stereo.
Here's the site where you can buy the three:

Gah, no english subs make these only marginally better than the old Gaumont box set which had no english language option at all. And that one at least had some extras.
Asterix and the Soothsayer, the Finnish dub was a lot better than the english one.

I own a bootleg set of all the Asterix films but I still might upgrade to the official version of 12 Tasks (my fav). Toddly, could you possibly post screen caps if you get a chance?
