DVD Talk Limited Edition
Official DLC Post
I've created a GamerTag for all the 360 rockers, to benefit from the new Friends of Friends feature. If you'd like to join, send a request to DVDTalk Rocks and I'll add you. I'll be checking it every day, unlike some other 'talker who set up the "DVDTalk Gamers" tag.
I have compiled a list of the varying difficulties for each song on each instrument, as well as youtube links to all songs on Expert guitar and Expert drums when available.
This information is gathered from the tracks that I own, with the gaps being filled in from other various sources. If anyone has any of the missing information, PM me and I'll get it thrown in here.
I have put them into spoiler sections per L&O's request, as well as to keep this first page uncluttered.
The format for the difficulties is:
Guitar/Bass/Drums/Vocals/Band
This Week's DLC
NIN Pack:
Nine Inch Nails - The Collector : 3/1/5/6/4
Nine Inch Nails - March of the Pigs : 6/7/8/7/7
Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug : 6/2/9/8/4
Currently Available DLC (alpha by band):
Packs
*Check the individual song sections for videos and difficulty tiering*
A-G:
H-N:
O-Z:
Announced DLC:
This is a huge overhaul of the format, with input from several users (thanks especially to Michael Corvin and lordwow). If there's anything else I can add to be helpful, let me know, preferably by PM.

Shagrath, you should repost your story here. That must have been a great feeling having the crowd cheer you on like that.
(L&O likes to close threads once a great discussion shows up)

The judging was based solely on performance and not technical merit, so we went nuts. We did Enter Sandman. I was all over the stage, not even looking at the screen (dumbed vox down to hard so I could hit everything without looking). Our guitarist did a matrix bend during the solo, and then ran into the crowd for the outro. The crowd was completely blowing up for us! After we got off stage, there were tons of people that wanted to shake our hands and tell us how awesome we were, and there were even some chicks who took a picture with our drummer. We were playing Hard vox (due to limitations of the venue. It was too loud to get the pitch correct with so much other stuff going on), Hard drums, and expert guitar and bass. We ended up scoring a 26/30 from the judges, which put us at the top. But we were only the 6th band to go up.
Then a few songs later, this group of two girls in short skirts with fairy wings come up and do Highway Star on all Medium and Hard. For the tambourine hits, she was hitting the mic against her ass. They ended up getting a 28/30 because the judges were all from the morning radio show. They also ended up winning the competition, which had a grand prize of being opening act for Video Games Live at Hard Rock on Thursday and playing in front of a ton of people. All three bands that won had females in them, which I thought was pretty biased.
When they were giving out the prizes, most of the crowd booed the first place band, and they did an encore where everyone was screaming for them to bump everything up to Expert. They did, and failed "When You Were Young" twice within 11%! They scuttled off stage, and we jumped back up there and did Hand That Feeds for the small crowd that was left. I know in the hearts of the people that were there (non-judges), we tore that shit down. But because I don't have breasts, we'll never win a competition judged by fucking morning radio DJs.
A student of mine got our whole song on his cell phone, so hopefully I can get it from him and put it up on YouTube at some point.

3 words: O A Sis.
I don't get the hate, sure they're egotistical and overrated, but those songs will be fun as hell to sing. I just wish we'd get Champagne Supernova and What's the Story (Morning Glory) sometime.
Oh yeah, and Siva next week? Yes please!
I'm so very pleased with the DLC in Rock Band so far and I hope they keep.

Are there any third party mics or drums that work with Rock Band? My buddy just has the game (not bundle) because he just wanted to try the guitar. However, I don't want to drag my crap over there each time we play the game together (not on Live). I know drums are likely out of the question, but I did notice the Logitech makes a USB mic for the 360, will this work with Rock BAnd?

Also, is there any way I can get my DLC post back to #2 in here? Even though there are other sites that have the info, I enjoy putting it all together in one easy place for you guys.

I just do as I am told when it comes to thread length. As the threads get longer, it apparently adds more load to the servers to retrieve the posts.

I just got Rock Band this weekend. Does anyone else have trouble with overdrive activating randomly on the guitar? Mine goes off while keeping the guitar completely still. The drums also seem sporadic. It seems like I have to hit the pads pretty hard for the note to register. How can I tell if my gear is defective or just plays that way? Sorry if this was already answered in the other threads.

Drums -- pick a song with a good amount of time before the song kicks in, do rolls (R L R L R L repeatedly) on each drum and see if they register or not. (...And Justice For All is great for this if you bought it.) You can generally tell if they work okay or not. Mostly tho, the lighter you hit the drum the better it will register, the harder the less likely it is to come through on a lot of sets (which I consider to be defunct, I've since gotten two sets from EA with bad pads like that).
Guitar -- Sounds like the guitar is screwy, play with it a bit longer to see if it works itself out.

It's keeping the guitar FLAT.

On drums, should I focus on hitting the pads in the middle or are the edges more responsive?

My USB hub crapped out on Friday. I was wondering why we couldn't hear our singer. Used a Belkin ipod syncer USB hub and everything was fine. I may not even bother RMAing it.
Also, my replacement guitar should be delivered today. I hope it's a good one.

I just picked up the Logitech Vantage mic for the 360 today and it works great with Rock Band.
One of the loading screens in the game says that any usb mic will work with the game.
