Mass Effect

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but the game comes out 11/20 and no one seemed to be talking about it. So I thought I would ask what everyone thought.
Here is the description from amazon:

Set 200 years in the future in an epic universe, Mass Effect places gamers in a vast galactic community in danger of being conquered by a legendary agent gone rogue. A spectacular new vision from legendary developers BioWare, Mass Effect challenges players to lead a squad of freedom fighters as they struggle against threatening armies to restore peace in the land. Mass Effect is the first in a trilogy of games with an overarching story, where the real conflict between organic beings and artificial intelligence comes to life in startling clarity. Intense, in-depth story where the fate of life as you know it depends on you Features six character classes, along with six more unlockable ones - each class contains several talents As each talent is leveled, the character either gains stats (extra health, stamina, etc) or unlocks new abilities. Players can fully customize their appearance, gender, abilities and even military background. Four classes of conventional weapons ESRB Rated M for Mature

I'm loving it so far. Really good story and great graphics. I like the way the game plays compared to KOTOR, much faster paced but still RPG like. If anyone liked KOTOR they should definitely check it out.

KOTOR is one of my favorite games but Jade Empire disappointed me. Does Mass Effect feel like you have completely open choices?

I've been reading over at gamefaqs.com that many K-Marts accidentally put out Mass Effect for sale today, so if you are interested in possibly picking up the game early, I would check your nearest K-Mart.

I just got back from checking out a few K-Marts, and although I was not able to get a copy, one of the sales clerks told me that they had sold a copy this morning before pulling them from the shelves.

Hard to say for me, since I have been staying on the "good" side of things. I'd say it's pretty similar to KOTORs conversation system, although its much more realistic and movie like.

I'm really looking forward to this. I LOVED the first KOTOR and everything I've seen in regards to Mass Effect looks like they've dialed it up to 11.

Someone has posted the last page of the upcoming OXM review
Official Xbox Magazine sings the praises of Mass Effect before rewarding it with a perfect 10. Editor Paul Curthoys writes:

"The experience as a whole - the sense of awe that lasts all game long, and the emotions in your gut as you sit back at the end and just gape - pays off all on its own. Personally, it's the best game I've ever played, but even if you're not a hardcore sci-fi nerd like me, Mass Effect is a transcendent experience, the new standard-setter for what a game can be. You have to play it, and that's why we're kinda jealous of you. Even if you memorized all the previews and trailers, you're still not ready for how awesome this game is."

Barring slow USPS speed, VGT should have a review up for Mass Effect by next weekend. We received the limited edition and I have the standard edition in the mail for myself from a friend who scored a copy at Kmart in Kentucky.

Pre-ordered and waiting patiently for the 20th. Thankfully I'll have CoD4, Mario Galaxies, and Assassins Creed to keep me busy.

This has me amped up. Something to play during the long WGA strike in January. Until then, I'm too busy with CoD4 and SM: Galaxy.

Mass Effect is BANNED!!*

*in Singapore.

Lesbian love gets Mass Effect banned

Apparently, there is some alien lesbian love in the game, and the game has therefore been banned in Singapore.

the thing is, as it was in the KOTOR series, your main character can be Male or Female. In that game you could lead the dialog towards a romantic interest with several of the characters you interacted with--regardless of your gender.

So, not knowing for SURE that the developers intentionally put a lesbian touch to the storyline, its possible they just allowed for any love interest regardless of the first players gender of choice.

That can't be real. The game case is too small. That quarter is gigantic compared to it!

How does that prove anything? If I could photochop the Mass Effect case into a picture of a K-Mart receipt, I think I could also photochop in a picture of a coin.
