anyone else dreading the loss of the Amazon 10% off deal?
I'm going to miss it. it doesn't really seem like a big deal but $2.00 off here, $3.00 off there really helps the cost and it adds up. I fear that when it's over my HD/BD spending will take a big drop unless prices drop enough to make up the difference that the Amazon deal gives.
here's to hoping they extend it again.
Please Amazon. please, please, please.

I got the 10 % off when I bought 3 HD-DVD's to get the 10% off deal for the next year or however long it was but I have never got 10% off of any movies I have bought since. What's the deal with that?

Yes, that will truly suck. Other than a couple titles at Xploited, they have gotten all my HD business for quite a while now. I also hope they extend it another year, it'll help justify keeping my Prime account.

Yep, I'll miss it too.
Hopefully by then the stores will start discounting titles more. My Wal-Mart finally has a few new BD releases for $24.95 which isn't bad. Columbia House is supposed to start soon. Maybe the MSRPs will go down as well.

For those who are supposed to get the discount, but haven't, just wait a few days and resubmit your order.
My experience has been that it takes Amazon about 3-5 days following a new listing for the 10% to appear in your cart.
Just try that!

also my preorders for 'Starship Troopers', '20 Million Miles to Earth' and 'Bram Stoker's Dracula', didn't take the 10 % off either, gonna try your recommendation.
had to reorder 'Wings of Honneamise' yesterday since it got mysteriousily cancelled - the extra 10% worked -

Mine still shows up. How long was it supposed to last again? Did it have an expiry date, or was it something like 6 months from the time you bought your HD-DVDs?

I haven't used mine in a long time. The local used CD/DVD store gets a steady stream of stolen (I'm sure) HD DVD and Blu-ray discs in and their prices beat Amazon even with the 10% off. I'm planning on going today to buy 300. I'm sure someone will bring a few in and it will be no more than $19.99 for a combo.

I'll miss the 10% when it goes but I predict they will start special discounts on new titles like they used to which will more than make up for it.
Right now, there isn't any price leeway for any HiDef titles.
