What Are You Reading? November 2006
Another month, another thread.
I just put down Lisey's Story because I just could not get into it at all. I may pick it up at a later date, but for now I'll pass it on to my wife and see if she enjoys it better than I.

I just finished reading the six Harry Potter books that took me all of October
I am currently reading: I shouldn't even be doing this! and other things that strike me as funny by Bob Newhart

Just finished the excellent God Delusion
Currently reading Echo Park
And also reading through The Areas of My Expertise
I'm really enjoying the new John Hodgman and Michael Connelly books.

I just finished Mapping the Edge (Dunant) and am now on The Good German (Canon). I recently ordered Lisey's Story (King), The Black Dahlia (Ellroy), The Road (McCarthy), Guests of the Ayatollah (Bowden), Freakonomics (Levitt), Sharp Objects (Flynn), Oh What a Slaughter (McMurtry), The Colorado Kid (King) and World War Z (Brooks). Not sure which one I'll be starting on next, but I'll probably get through all of them by the end of the year.

The Prince. Eh.. To really understand the book you need to understand Renaissance Italy in the 1500's and I don't. It would also help if you knew your Roman emperors as well, which again I don't.
I do have a 15 hour lecture on the subject on audio book and I am learning a lot from that, however I'm not sure if it is worth all the hassle.

Still reading...
The Count of Monte Cristo (unabridged) by Alexandre Dumas.
Slow reader + 1500 pages = it'll be a while before I get to another book
