Which big stars NEVER APPEARED on TV's "Saturday Night Live?" And why?

Saturday Night Live has been on since 1975, and its been like The Love Boat, in that almost every major and relevant star has been guest starred on it.

But, of course, not EVERYONE'S been on the show. I'm sure there are reasons for it:

1) Not their (the actor's) cup of tea.

2) Time restraints - could never get it together to be on the show when asked (scheduling horrors).

3) SNL didn't want them on it.

One actor I think has never been on it is Oscar-nominee Gary Sinise. I would have thought that the ideal time for him to be asked would have been in 1995, a year after doing Forrest Gump, the year he did Apollo 13. I checked IMDB, and there's nothing listed for SNL.

Who else has never made an appearance on SNL?

I'm not sure but I don't ever remember seeing Harrison Ford on SNL. I know he's very private and hates doing publicity for his movies so maybe that's why. Of course I may be wrong, has Ford ever been on SNL?

He might not be a big star, but it's sort of surprising to me that Dave Foley never hosted. He did have a 5 season sitcom on NBC and some sort of relationship with Hollywood Video due to KitH.

Tom Cruise is more along the lines of the celebrity you're looking for, I think. It is pretty shocking that he never hosted if you ask me.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has never hosted.

Neither has Matt LeBlanc... but all of the other 5 "Friends" cast members have.

He's never hosted, but he did make a memorable appearance in a Hans and Franz sketch.

Michael Richards is the only Seinfeld cast member not to host the show. I think he was booked at one point and had to back out.

I was always surprised Matt LeBlanc didn't host, especially when Joey was desperately needing promotion.

A few big names who have never hosted: Brad Pitt (did make a cameo), Julia Roberts, Uma Thurman, Will Smith, Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, Tim Allen, Al Pacino

Really? Could have sworn she hosted; didn't realize she hadn't.

Another list is hosts who had absolutely no reason to even be asked to host. I'll go first: Broderick Crawford. Granted it was 30 years ago, but his career had been over for 20 years, and it sure wasn;t for kitsch value.....

Nicholson made a cameo in one episode; I think Helen Hunt was hosting? I remember this because he did the Roxbury head bop movement on his way out--and was wearing shades, of course.

I'm honestly surprised that over the years Regis Philbin has never hosted.

Tom Cruise hasn't host because they know he'll crack up every other line. The guy can't keep a straight face in a live comedy situation.

That didn't stop Lorne Michaels from keeping Jimmy Fallon and Horatio Sanz on for several years, did it?
