SAW 3 Movie posters mixed with real blood

As reported on www.horror-movies.ca:

Lionsgate has finally gone crazy. Their head of marketing Tim Palen recently did a little brainstorming and thought it would be great if they could print up some Saw 3 posters with REAL blood. The catch is it's not just anybodys blood, it's Tobin Bells aka Jigsaw.

"We decided to do a poster and he's wearing a red cloak. I was talking to the printer and asked what we could do to get the deepest blood red. I asked if it would be possible to use actual blood. There was silence. He said, 'We could try, but are you serious?' I said I was dead serious," Palen told Variety.

The posters from the first printing -- about 1,000 in all -- will be sold for $20, minus the first print, which will be auctioned off. All proceeds from the auction and sales will go to the Red Cross. I'm not sure why they are sticking with the Red Cross after they wanted nothing to do with the Blood Drive but at least they will put it to good use.. hopefully.

This is pretty strange, there is a link to the auction at www.saw3.com

Updated with a little more information I found:
You may be able to find a couple of coupons to use at stubhub for $10.00 to $20.00 off your first order. (Try google) Bringing your total for the regular poster to $2.00 to $12.00 depending on the coupon used.

Bah...Kiss did this 30 years ago with a comic book. Let's not act like this is an original idea.

It looks like there's only one that's printed with actual blood, and it's already up to $510.

That was my first thought when I read the thread title..."Are we back in the 70s?" I guess retro is cool, right?

Wasn't there a comic book artist who passed away several years ago, and specified in his will that his ashes be mixed with the ink for a printing of the series he worked on?

It would've been better if Bell didn't agree and they had to hold him down to get the blood.

It was Mark Gruenwald and the first print of Squadron Supreme. Sadly, along with several others, this and the Kiss comic are what I thought of when I saw this thread.

No one is...

It's a cool idea and it goes to a good cause. It's just a tad too rich for my... uh... you know.

There are 100 printed out of blood, but they are already sold out. They were $20 a pop. The expensive one is autographed also. That is why it is expensive.
