I would LOVE for this film to come to DVD.

I'm surprised that it isn't, given a number of factors:

* It was pretty good to begin with!

* It was directed by Roger Vadim (Barberella)

* It had a huge list of stars that start with a somewhat nekkid and lovely Angie Dickenson, along with Rock Hudson in a role he had just prior to his fame on the TV classic series McMillan and Wife. Plus Roddy McDowall (Planet of the Apes), Telly Savalas (Kojak), JoAnna Cameron ("Isis"), Keenan Wynn (a mainstay of TV and films, remembered best in Disney films Absent Minded Professor and Herbie Rides Again, and as "Digger Barnes" in Dallas), Barbara Leigh ("Vampirella" and Playboy celebrity pictorials), John David Carson (Falcon Crest), William Campbell (Star Trek Klingon "Koloth"), and James Doohan (Star Trek's "Scotty"!).

* But the biggest Star Trek tie-in, and the fact that would make lots of Trekkies (myself included) buy it "just because", is that fact that Gene Roddenberry wrote the screenplay!

Hmmm...as a 1971 film produced by MGM, this should now be in the Warner-owned group of properties, I think. Maybe the next time Warner does an online chat at HTF, someone should ask them about it! I'd buy it.

I remember this being pretty good when it came out. Not at the top of my want list or anything (I'm much more excited by Pretty Poison which is coming out soon) but I'd probably buy it.

I just saw this for the first time at about 3:30 this morning. That got me wondering about a dvd release, as I don't remember ever seeing or hearing about one. I was going to look for it this morning and found this thread. I would pick this up on dvd as I missed the first half hour of it.
