Carpenter's THE FOG "Remastered" Dvd

Hello Friends!!!

Question: Was there actually a difference in video quality between the original release of Carpenter's THE FOG (green cover) and the "Remastered" version (blue cover)? Just curious.

Based upon the consumer reviews from Amazon, both version are equivalent, without substantial audio, video, and special feature differences.

I think the new version is a single-sided disc which drops the second side of the previous disc. IIRC it was just a pan and scan transfer on that side.

Yeah, there really isn't any noticeable different a/v wise. As Drexl mentioned, the blue version has the advantage of being one-sided, plus artwork-wise it matches the color of the actual fog from the movie. If you don't already have it, buy the blue version. But if you already have the green version, it's a totally worthless upgrade.

No difference at all. The Green cover version is the one to get IMO, because it does have a P&S version one the other side, in case the Widescreen ever has a problem while you're watching. I've had that happen on a couple DVD rentals, and was happy to be able to finish watching the film by flipping it over to the albeit inferior but working P&S side.
