I just thought it was a big coincidence that's all!

Great to see that Warner is putting this package together.

dvd_luver, please don't take any offense, I was just quoting lines from the movie that Warner would have said if they had the chance..

You know, after this, I really think we have a good chance for a Grumpy Old Men double feature...hopefully in WIDESCREEN

gijon213, it's been awhile as you can see since I last popped in Ace 1 in the dvd player. Though I watched a bit on cable. As for the Grumpy Old Men double feature with new 16x9 Widescreen prints, for Warner that is quite the no brainer. The snapper case versions are always seen in the Wal-mart dump bins.

Too bad they're not doing a little more for the first film--deleted scenes and such--but this still sounds good. (If the EXTENDED cut is 87 minutes, how long was the theatrical?) Was hoping to hear sometime soon about an Ace Ventura set and a 20th anniversary collection of all three Crocodile Dundee films. One down....

I can finally buy Ace as it should have been from the start. I also NEED to have both Grumpy films w/ 16x9 ws. Long overdue. Hopefully they do some nice extras or at least some retrospective since both recently passed away.

It was something like 86 minutes; they only added one short scene, down by the dolphin tank.

awesome. it's been so long since i have seen this. please say that the version they're releasing has the part in the dolphin tank when he starts talking like captain kirk. that was in the theatrical right? the second he gets into his kirk stance and says "spock" smuggly i start busting up.

Just found this out a few days ago while watching this movie: The dolphin trainer scene is NOT in this version. Damn it! No dolphin trainer scene, no Ace on stage with Cannibal Corpse scene? WTF! Looks like I'll have to re-buy the full screen snapper-case version and swap out the widescreen version in the double feature with the full screen disc. I'd rather have the full screen version with as much of the film as possible than a widescreen version with scenes taken out. Just give us the COMPLETE film already!

The full screen version and the original home video release were "extended" versions of the movie. The DVD in the double feature set is the "theatrical" version of the film, the one seen in theaters during it's original release. I agree that I would like to have all the "extended" scenes, but I'd rather have a widescreen version of the "original" film with a commentary by the director.
