Because the last one was good. And it made a nice profit. I'd like to see how it all started. One of the girls in the film is Jordana Brewster ("The Fast and the Furious")

I think David Schow is writing this, so it might not be too horrible.

But, Jesus God, the remake sucked ass. The only good things about were Jessica Biel's tits bouncing around in a wet t-shirt and the part where
Spoiler:
she sees Leatherface 'wearing' her boyfriend's face.

I like the original and the remake. They're two totally different beasts to me. Now, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation with Renee Zellweger and Matt McConaughey... THAT'S a piece of shit.

I sort of enjoy 'The Next Generation', it is a guilty pleasure.

You know what I hate about this? The whole idea of an orgin. You know it will be some convulted nonsense. Why can't we have a simple physco in a movie now'a'days? That is the problem with every horror film. They take the monster and try to show a human side and it makes them less frightening. I think that is one reason that movies like 'The Last House on the Left', 'Henry' and even the original 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' are so effective. Because you have normal characters during terrible things for one reason.....because they can.

I like both as well.

Now, Next Generation? One of the greatest comedies of all time.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning trailer

http://www.apple.com/trailers/newline/tcm_thebeginning/

Says it's only available to view between 10 PM and 4 AM, although you can just change the clock on your computer to see it.

Looks like more of the same. Outside of the style, I wasn't very impressed with the TCM remake, but to each his own.

I would think that the movie should predate the 70's - like it should take place late 50's or 60's.... but the kids look to "modern" or "retro" very abocrombe

Looks like a good movie,, but I'm not buying into the kids

This looks like a remake of the remake from 3 years ago.

They seem so similar.

I agree. They should set it in the 50's or 60's to give it a little different feel than the previous film. But by the looks of several of the actors returning from the remake, this one can't take place more than 3 or 4 years before the remake, which was supposed to be what? 1973?

Looks damn good. I remember hating the remake when it first came out but then fell in love with it.

I can't believe we're finally getting our

I really liked the remake, but over repeated viewings my intial interpetation has diminished, but "The Origin" looks great!!!! Glad to see David Schow get a second chance at TCM, since his Leatherface: TCM III was mangled (by the same studio!).

Can't wait, along with SAW 3, should be a brutal and bloody Halloween.

Yeah, same reaction here.
It honestly looks like the same movie with different actors. Add to that slew of movies of the same ilk that have come out since and I probably won't be laying down money for this one.

It does look more of the same, but I loved the remake (and the original), so I'll be there opening night.

What's the point of having the trailer only viewable at certain times? Is it to keep the kiddies away or what?

Like others have said, looks good but way, way too similar to the remake. Why even make this a prequel if all the returning charachters look exactly the same? I hate prequels anyway for the most part. I've never really seen one I liked.

I got excited when I saw that too! I just hope that they don't pussy out on it.

I'll echo the "it looks similiar" to the remake sentiment. I liked the remake though so I'll see this in the theater.
