Thriller: They Call Her One Eye - 8/30/05
From Synapse:
"This version of THRILLER: THEY CALL HER ONE EYE is an alternate version of the film without the inclusion of the strong sexual content."
Synapse Films - Thriller: They Call Her One Eye
This disc is scheduled for release on August 30, 2005. I find it strange that they would release this film without the hardcore footage; I was under the impression that the director intended it to be there (unlike the alternate version of 99 Women from Blue Underground). Will fans of the original DVD be picking this up?

I thought it was odd that they would release a cut version at all, especially after the hardcore version. Notice how I mentioned the original DVD in my first post.

it is funny that the director of 99 WOMEN did NOT intended the hardcore footage, and DISOWNS that cut, and hardcore fans of thev director has spoken AGAINST that abomination, yet that version out sold the directors cut, believe it or not.

do we really need this? my bro-inlaw got the previously released copy, and the hardcore footage feel right into place with the rest of the movie really... I know I would not get the trimmed down version.
What a weird movie... the slo-mo fighting action was really trippy.

I don't know why someone would buy the sanitized version, without the hardcore scenes this film would be kind of lame IMO.

Interesting...
OK, just so I'm certain, the director of Thriller: A Cruel Picture did intend the 'hardcore' footage to be included in his film though?
Thanks.

Thriller was actually designed for multiple versions. For example, it was specifically marketed at Cannes that its content could be tailored to the restrictions and requirements of various regions. Releasing it without the hardcore footage to target another market is completely justified.

I would prefer no Porno in the film thats for sure, it just felt wrong for me, so I would like the option of Porno free dvd so I could borrow it to friends and not feel like a smut peddler. Its a shame they could not have put both versions on the same dvd
Great film and I loved the extreeem slow mo shots! well ahead of its time, but for me the Porn made me not like it as much as I wanted to

I've seen several used copies floating around since it came out. I always smile a little and think about the poor bastard who bought it because of the Tarantino name dropping on the package and whatever else.
I really loved this movie, though.. Easily one of my favorite DVDs of 2004.

Borders has the first release of Thriller for $23.99. Should I pick it up immediately,is the film worth it?
Also at Borders, they only have the hardcore version of 99 Women. Now while it is nice to see a retailer stocking hardcore titles. In this case,it would be good if they stocked both versions for obvious reasons
