Karate Kid?

Did anyone see any Karate Kid single release in stores today? I checked out Best Buy, CC, and Target, but didn't see any.

Yeah same here. That couldn't have been just an online offer right?

No, but I didn't look either.

The way I look at things is that stores have limited shelf space and for them to have stock of every release, it would take a complete warehouse to continually house all of the new releases and older ones....oh wait! That's what on-line retailers have. That's why I get 99% of my stuff on-line.

We had the single releases of all 4 at my Best Buy today. I don't know that we necessarily sold any of them. Maybe people were looking for them in the martial arts section.

It was a far better deal buying the set.

And I watched The Next Karate Kid for the first time the other day. And ya know, for all the horror stories I read about it, I didn't think it was that bad. Actually found it better than the third one.

I loved the monks!

Three sucks, but so does the Next Karate Kid, IMO.
The first one is the true classic.

No doubt the first is a classic. But I find II to be the better film all the way around.

What mainly makes it better for me is it doesn't have all that high school angst stuff that is such a big part of the first one. Once high school is a distant memory, it's hard to take much of that seriously or see any really drama in it.

I'm finding I'm having similar issues with other "high school" movies.

Unless you think parts 2-4 suck, it's not.

When in doubt, check the family section at Best Buy. I looked for awhile the other day for the Back to the Future set and they had it in the Family section as well.

Checked my local Best Buy yesterday. They had the box set under drama. I didn't check the family section.

Yep , currently the box set is in the drama section and the singles are in the family section. I would say expect a section change on those soon.

My set price of $23.74 at WalMart, divided by four movies = $5.94 per movie.

Best deal by far.

Even at SRP ($36.96) it comes out to $9.24 per movie.

I like the first movie best. 2nd and 3rd are not too bad. I didn't care for The Next Karate Kid.
