EDIT: Shucks... subject should be:
To All Who Received Bond Set 3 from BESTBUY OPENED

Sorry about this... I know it belongs in the other Bond Set 3 thread, but I did post it there and people don't seem to have noticed it...

OK... looks like there are a ton of opened box sets received...

I'm wondering if whether BestBuy opened them and replaced the 'defective' titles with the 'corrected' ones. Maybe this is what took them so long to send this batch? And maybe they didn't have enough 'corrected' DVDs and to avoid further delay, shipped all the other orders out (some with opened boxes, some with sealed boxes)... A very hypothetical situation indeed...
but for those who received the Box Sets opened, could you check whether you have the proper version of The Living Daylights? This is the title that MGM said they would fix the burned-in subtitles for. Unfortunately, I don't know what time in the movie this occurs (EDIT: I just watched TLD and there's a bit of Russian at 19min24sec and I think it's supposed to be "What kind of girl do you think I am?" let me know if I'm wrong)...
I'm very curious to find out why a lot of boxes were sent opened!
If you don't know where to look... maybe when you have time to watch it, see if any subtitles show up during the movie.

Thanks

--mine was sealed.

Autotelik,

I don't think you get it - no one gives a **** ! The errors are very minor - it doesn't ruin the viewing experience. If the movies stopped playing, or suddenly switched to 'Wild, Wild West' halfway through, that would suck and we'd be interested.

As for the boxes being partially opened there are a few plausible explanations: a) BB used an inferior glue to seal the boxes shut - some came loose; b) someone at their distribution center or the local USPS site was practicing for his weekend touch football game by throwing some boxes around.

I doubt MGM is in a huge rush to fix this. I can't imagine that it's impacted their sales at all.

I thought everyone referring to open boxes were the big brown box not the actual Bond Set. My brown box from Best Buy was wide open on my door steps when I got home. But laying there was a "SEALED" James Bond #3 box set. So that's what I thought people were referring to when they say they got it "opened"

So much for asking a question politely around here.
I do think that some people around here care about whether they have a fixed DVD or not.

I think I read, either in a message here or Dvdfile, that there was no re-call and if you wanted a corrected version of a title you would have to through Mgm for replacement when it was done.

One end of my box was open. I would like to think I got a corrected set but I wouldnt through the trouble of trying to exchange what I got.

Thanks for the clarification... I didn't know that it was the brown box that was opened.
