Is there a website that would tell you what movies you might like?
My thoughts are a little convoluted at the moment, but I was thinking something like this might exist and be really cool to check out. It will be kinda hard to put into words, but hopefully very easy to understand the bottomline...
You know how there are certain sites where you can punch in some criterias and it spits out possible likes/results for things. I can't even think of an example.
But, I was wondering if there is a particular site where you would put in a few movies "Silence of the Lambs", "Punch-Drunk-Love", "Pulp Fiction" (even though some maybe dissimilar) and the site will literally give you a list of a few movies that fit or come close to those genres or subject matters that you might also enjoy.
A list perhaps of DVD's that you can then rent or think about buying because they fit your tastes based on other movies you enjoy. Basically, something where you don't have to think much, just input and something spits out.
It came about because I want to recommend some movies to my sister who has particular tastes and simply want to put in the movies she likes and see what others she might. I dunno...
ya know? anything like that, anyone know about...

Amazon kinda does that when you search for a film, they show others you may like... don't know if their method of figuring out what to match with what is going to work for you, but there you go. I think IMDB also kinda does that iirc.

There was a really good one, I think it was called something like moviecritic.com. You'd have to rate around 50 movies before it started to suggest movies for you. After about 500 ratings it started to get scary accurate. Each movie was presented as an IMdB link. I miss that site.

Netflix is the best I've seen so far but then again, this is something I haven't looked into too much.
