As someone over in the Bargains Forum suggested, consider this a "place marker" for when Bestbuy.com retroactively rejects all those James Bond Set 3 orders. . . .

They've done it before, they'll do it again.

BestBuy.com is suck. You place an order at BestBuys.com, and then you can't cancel it at BestBuy.com, And if you want to apply a coupon to it after the fact, BestBuy.com can't do that either. And if you try to get status of that order, the CS at BestBuy.com don't know what you're talking about. BestBuy.com is suck. Just ask roger_d.

Now where is that icon for tongue firmly planted in cheek

The James Bond Set 3 is no longer on their site. I called them about this as I had ordered this set and was concerned they would cancel my order. Apparently they will allow one set per household for the $40 price. At least my order is safe, at least they say it is. Will have to wait and see for sure.

That's good news. Hopefully they won't change their mind.

I called customer service today and was told they would honor the $39.99 price even though it was a mistake. But it would only be valid for shipped online orders, and not for orders picked up at their stores.

I'm still keeping my buy.com pre-order. I won't believe it until I'm holding my new JB#3 set from BestBuy in my hot little hands (of course, by then, I will have probably received my buy.com set). At least it'll make a good gift...

Here's the e-mail I just received from Best Buy:

Dear BestBuy.com Customer,

We extend a sincere apology for an error in the online advertised price of
The James Bond Collection: Vol. 3 on DVD that you recently ordered. We will
honor the online advertised price of $39.99 for one box set per customer.
All other backorders will be cancelled and may be reordered online for the
actual price of $109.99. We value your patronage and hope to be of service
to you soon.

Thanks again for shopping at BestBuy.com.

Sincerely,
BestBuy.com Customer Care
