Soul Calibur won't fit my screen - how to fix?
I have a large RP 4:3 HDTV and my Xbox is set up to support all modes of hi-def and this has never caused a problem before, but with this one game the xbox tries to display it in widescreen and puts bars on the top and bottom, but then also gives me bars on the sides and the image is 4:3 but inside a black box... pointless. How do I fix this?

I can't recall offhand, but I think if you run it at 1080i it is 'enhanced for widescreen tv's' but it cannot do a full 16:9 picture, so instead it window boxes it on 4:3 tv's, or on 16:9 tv's it will just show bars on the sides.

I think this is normal for SC2. It has no wide screen mode but is 720p I think. So yeah nothing wrong with your TV it was the way they made it.
Don't run the game in 720p turn it off and then see if it will full the screen.

The difference between 480p and 720p with Soul Calibur II is not that dramatic. It will run in widescreen at 480p.

if they weren't going to do it properly, they shouldn't have even included it.

it's just annoying to switch just for the one game to get it widescreen.
