Okay, it's done, I've put the finishing touches on the BassMaker(tm). Here's a quick link to it. Plus, you can see the How-to photos for the cover by clicking here and going to the July 31 section of the page.

All the information you need to build you a BassMaker(tm) is on that page.

Looks awesome.

And I mean that literally!

Nice job Pat. How does it sound? And have you noticed the absence of small animals and birds in your neighborhood lately?

Blade, thanks! The question is not how it sounds, but how it feels! It feels great. I'm serious. When I watch my DVDs, I feel the SPL's now. It's tuned to 19Hz, and its low end is pretty nice. It needs to be EQ'd to get rid of an in-room hump around 56-63Hz though. When I watch my AC-3 Ld of The Phantom Menace, I feel the light sabers swooming through the room. Yeah, I like it.

Beejay, I don't have a real beefy amp yet (just a couple of amp channels with 80W/ch feeding each of the 2 drivers), so I don't know what the max SPL is, but I'm fearful of structural damage, so I don't get to crazy with it. I just like knowing I have plenty of bass reserves now. My next major purchase will be a better amp, hopefully 300W/ch @ 4 Ohms to feed both drivers.

That really does look nice. Woof! Are you going to move it around and experiment? I know that bass is considered to be omni-directional, but every room is a different tune.

At this point, I can't really put it anywhere but where it's now located. If/when I get into a more conventional rectangular room, I'll move it in one of the corners and see where it sounds/feels the best.
