Matrix Box Set

Anyone know of any plans to release the 3 Matrix movies in a DVD box set?

Thanks.

Due to the laws of physics and the first matrix being far better than the last two, packaging all three in a box set would create a hole in space and suck us all in.

Yes, there are plans, and it'll be a pretty large set (9 discs or something like that, IIRC). No date yet.

Everything about a 9-disc set is rumored. I would think something more along the lines of 6-7 discs would be more reasonable.

Not off-hand, but there have been other threads about it. Just go back a few pages in this forum and you're bound to find it.

EDIT: Here it is.

Thanks, saw that thread courtesy of your link. I've already seen the widescreen versions of the Karate Kid movies held from the US for years now, and I notice that this Matix set is listed as Region 4 (US is Region 1 for those that may not know).

I wonder if we are going to go years without the Matrix set being released in Region 1, like we have already gone without the Karate Kid Widescreen editions.

That is for Region 2. Hopefully Region 1 will get something similar soon. Does anyone else think that there are too many extras?

Naaaa.. although if I wasn't an extras person I wouldnt be happy about paying for atleast 4 extra discs... (and that's still allowing two for each movie)

Wonder if they'll be released seperately?..

Yeah, there can NEVER be enough extras.

The fact that the Animatrix is listed pretty much answers a question for me. My local Wal Mart recently added a bunch to its $14.xx discount rack. Looks like I'll hold off on that one.

Oh com'on, let's not start that debate again. For one, we're talking 3 movies, the Revisited discs for each, the Animatrix, and perhaps 3 discs that cover other specific aspects of the trilogy. Personally, I can see just a 9-disc set. The last two "features" listed I could see fitting on one disc.

Looks like the US price will run about $79.99. $45 pounds equates to about $82. The discount retail price will probably run about $60 or so.

Same here, I"m not much of an extras person (hardly any time to watch movies, much less extras) thus the only thing that really tempts me to double dip is the 55 minutes added to Reloaded.

I think Reloaded would be better if they removed 55 minutes. lol. (i.e. - stupid rave crap).

Only interested in the first film, if the new transfer is better (which I'm sure it will be).

I too don't have time to watch extras more than once most of the time, but I think I will buy this boxed set anyway. I have been waiting for it since the very first Matrix release, and I will be buying it upon release.

Does it include the deleted scene that takes place betweeen The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded where Lawrence Fishburne eats raw cookie dough for an hour?
