Now here's a twist for you! With all the various Saved by the Bell DVD releases that Lions Gate has put out, we expected The College Years to arrive from them as well, right? Wrongo! Yesterday Image Entertainment announced their August line-up, and Saved by the Bell: The College Years went to the head of the class!

Zack, Kelly, Slater and Screech are back for new adventures, new challenges and new friends at California U! Arriving at college, they realize that life is going to be very different. As Zack puts it, "Last year we ruled Bayside...this year we're the lowest rung on the food chain!" It's a time for firsts and lots of surprises. Zack gets rejected by a girl, Slater's the worst wrestler on the team, Kelly gets a hankering for her professor and Screech finally starts getting the girls! Resident Assistant Michael Rogers (played by former Oakland Raider Bob Golic) helps the gang through the rough patches. Now you can enjoy the entire series of 18 episodes in their entirety, plus the pilot, as the gang navigates their way through the ups and downs of college life!
Episodes include:
Pilot
Guess Who's Coming to College
Zack, Lies & Videotape
Rush Week
Slater's War
The Homecoming
The Poker Game
Professor Zack
Screech Love
Dr. Kelly
A Thanksgiving Story
Teacher's Pet
Kelly and the Professor
A Question of Ethics
The Rave
Bedside Manner
Love and Death
Marry Me
Wedding Plans

As you can see, the follow-up telefilm (also broken into separate episodes for syndication purposes), Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas, is NOT part of this release. Hopefully it will come to DVD later on.

Saved by the Bell: The College Years arrives as a 3-DVD set, list-pricing at $34.99, on August 17th. Running time is 433 minutes, and it will be presented in full frame video and English Stereo sound. No extras were mentioned, but we'll update you if we find out about any, so stay tuned.

A dear lord no. Besides from Kelly looking ridiculously hot, this is some bad TV. Very bad TV.

Shouldn't they release the rest of season 4, or what they now call "season 5" before they release the College Years. Don't get me wrong, I am glad it's coming to DVD, but I want the rest of the High School Years.

This set is being released by a different company. The last set of High School years is still coming.

Weird, I was just thinking about this show yesterday. Wasn't Kelly not in the first few episodes?

I'm there. I watched this as a kid. Now if they will finish the last of the high school episodes and give us the "Hawaiian Style" and "Wedding in Las Vegas" movies, I can be happy and revel in my geekdom. I do not know why, but I just love rewatching the cheesy stuff I watched when I was kid!

Am I alone in not being able to STAND anything Saved By The Bell? I grew up with this show and even when i was like 10 years old and forced to watch it by my Sister I couldn't stand it... this show was so god-awful and terrible to me... I don't think I could watch 5 seconds of it without cringing and wanting to throw the remote at the TV... I feel the same was about Full House... But anyways I don't mean to thread crap, I just wanted to know if I was alone in my opinion.

I'm so buying this set.

COME ON! LET'S RELEASE EVERY ****IN' PETER ENGEL SERIES TO DVD! YEE-****IN-HAW!

And Lions Gate owns the rights to Wedding In Las Vegas, so we'll probably see that on DVD after Season 5 (or maybe in the Season 5 set with the other TV movie).
