Panasonic DVD Recorder DMRE85HS question
How does the recording to the hard drive work?Also if you have completed a recording to the hard drive --can you edit it before you record to a DVD-Ram or DVD-R disc. thanks

So you can record from any source to the hard drive for instance DVD-RAM or DVD-R and record back to DVD-R and lose no picture quality?

Important to note that only DVD-RAM can be copied BACK to the HDD via a HS Dub with no loss of quality. DVD-R's copy back in realtime to allow for the footage in question to be further edited if you desire once it is on the HDD. With HS dubbing, either back to the HDD from DVD-RAM, or from the HDD to DVD-RAM/-R, there is no need for a reencode and thus, no quality loss.
