Open Water trailer / website

http://www.openwatermovie.com/

I saw this trailer before The Punisher and I said to myself, " Self, that movie is going to OWN you ". Check it out.

Damn, I just noticed they don't have the trailer ready for the site. They have reviews of the movie though. I assure you the trailer kicks ass.

Is Paul Walker in it? Cause if its even half as good as Timeline, this movie is gonna rock.

Was that supposed to be intentionally funny? The way it was cut together, it made it look like a commerical, I was waiting for the product shot at the end.

Did you click on that 'stream' link above? I think that's "previews"; not the trailer. Looks like the website doesn't even have up the trailer yet.

From the previews, this movie looks interesting, but a bit...well...unentertaining and pretentious. The verbal fight just seemed a bit silly.

"Open Water" : anyone have know about the "real story"

I saw an ad for this recently at the theater and the Entertainment Weekly description has me interested. Allegedly it was based on a true incident in which a diving couple got left at sea by their boatman to endure sharks, storms, etc.

I am interested in knowing the true story behind this and why someone would do something so cruel as to leave people in such a condition in the first place.

The director is from my hometown . An article was written about this movie in our town newspaper. I'd love to see it just for that reason, but it actually does look very good. it is a real story, I'm pretty sure that's what the article stated. I don't have any info beyond that.

OT: I wonder how much "based on a true story" adds to a box office gross...

I can't believe someone said that would make a good movie. 2 people stuck in the middle of the ocean for 2 hours? I'd rather watch paint dry.

Jeffrey Wells was talking about this in his column several months ago - indeed, it does look interesting now that I have watched the trailer. thanks, Giant.

Is this movie in "real time"? If so, I'm already interested.

I wish you guys had been interested when I made a thread about this movie a week ago. Anyway, it looks fantastic. I think there's a good chance it could be a huge hit.

Reminds me of that Magnum PI episode where he got lost in the ocean and had to tread water for several days. Of course Magnum didn't cry like a little baby bitch the way these losers do. I think I'll skip it.

I also find it funny that they get molested by like every species in the ocean (was that a vicious Moon Jelly attack I saw there? Be afraid...be very afraid!)

My most anticipated movie of the summer. Cannot WAIT for this. From the reviews I've read...it's supposed to be fantastic.

And Pants, I'd love to drop your ass in shark infested waters and see which you are...the cast of this movie (which is based on a true story) or Magnum PI.

Oh and by the way...they shot the whole movie with real sharks in the open ocean. They didn't have enough money for special effects. That ALONE terrifies me and the actors must be nuts.

I'd be Magnum all the way mother F'er! I'd drive the Ferrari and wear the short-shorts and everything.

And wow they filmed in the real ocean with real Moon Jellys! I hope no one got hurt

Yeah right.

Does that include Tom Selleck in In & Out?

How about the real sharks and the real barracuda that injured someone during the filming (might have been the director)

I for one am looking forward to this movie, may be a bit of a sleeper hit.

How much money could this movie possibly have cost that they didn't have any left over for special effects? I mean it looks like it's primarily a cast of two people, and set in the middle of the ocean.
