ANGEL HEART SE ~ Anyone getting it?

Sounds pretty cool. Even has a commentary with Rourke. Should be interesting.

Yeah I'll be getting it, even though I already have the previous R1 disc which featured a decent transfer, and the UKR2 disc which already has extras and a commentary. I love this film.

A must-have for me.
BTW, I read that Rourke's commentary is for only select scenes.

Pre-ordered it soon as I saw it was coming out. I'd been hoping that they'd do right by this film in R1.

Is this the cut version again or is it uncut now?

I'll probably pick it up since I don't have the non-SE anyways.

I sold my non-SE on eBay for $8.50, then pre-ordered the SE at DDD for $10.63.

I love this film; I can't wait to check out the extras.

Angel Heart SE DVD

Even though I recently picked up the first dvd release, I'll get this one as well since it's so cheap. I'll hold onto the first release as well in case the picture quality is nicer than the new disc or in case the new release isn't the unrated version like on the old disc. Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard the old disc is the unrated version and it was incorrectly marked the R-rated version.

It has happened that when a newer version comes, the picture quality isn't as nice as the older version. AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and TOTAL RECALL are examples of that. I'm sure there's plenty more.

I watched an R-rated cut that appeared on HBO a few years ago and it was actually the uncut version.

I guess this movie no longer has a rating mattter.

So...is the one I got from Best Buy with an R rating really R, or is it the unrated version? I remember renting the VHS unrated version and would not know the difference, but would like to know which version I actually own.

Any way to get the unrated version, or is the movie R by today's standards?

The commentary by Alan Parker describes what he cut ("a few feet of film") to ensure that the movie received an R rating ....
I bet Micket Rourke never imagined that his butt would be so controversial!

Neat site, but still doesn't give any real answers. Guess the differences were negligible.

.....Mickey Rourke's butt ..... a few seconds of Mickey Rourke's butt ..... that's what was cut by Alan Parker to get an R rating.
