Think FOX finally fix Buffy Season set problems? I DO!

Got Season 5 today at ten and was quite apprehensive in picking which one. S1,2 and Angel S1 I've been fine with, but all others, I had to take them back multiple times due to scratched discs. But S5 today seemed tighter in the packaging. So hopefully no one else should ever been burned with the scratched disc synthom. Anyone else have a great experince in finding no bad discs? I prefer Fox's way of folding them out. Why? I like the artwork, and say, something like Alias seasons, just feel like a boxset and not a complete season.

PS
May 2004 for S6 is too long to wait (yeah, I know of the critism it recieves), but would I be wrong in assuming S7 will be out next Dec?

Actually, the insert is wrong; it's not coming out until July.

I'll be picking up my Season 5 set later at Costco. Can't wait!

That would be a good guess - Jan. '05 at the latest.

Got mine today as well and didn't have any floaters either. They weren't even close to coming loose so maybe Fox has finally fixed this. To bad it took so long for them to do so.

Nothing rattlin' around in mine. But I have never had a problem with any of these Whedon sets.

Season 4 was the first Buffy set of mine that had a floater. And it was the disc with my favorite episode too (Hush). Season 2 of Angel had something like 5 discs loose. Luckily I only had to swap out one at Best Buy.

I was also hesitant to open up Season 5 and find some discs sliding off their hubs. They were all nicely snug. Even when I was just holding the box at the store, I had the feeling it was all gonna be okay. The packaging seems different somehow.

Floaters isn't the only problem with Fox sets. I've had some sets where there were no floaters but still was scratched to hell or fingerprints that won't come off. The packaging plants need to take more care.

the only problem with mine was some glue that didn't hold a disc holder in the rest of the set.

No floaters or scratches here, either.

Same here. The disc stayed on, though, and there were no scratches or nicks, a problem I've had with previous seasons.

I remember Buffy season 3 was a disaster! I think every forum I went to had a thread about season three and the DVD floater problem. I went back to Best Buy three times before getting a set without multiple floaters... I'm glad that's the only season I had problems with... I currently have season 4 and 5 unopened, so I'm holding by breath.

How did you manage this "swap"?

Since I knew disc one was the only problem disc, I told the customer service girl that I only wanted to take that disc from the new set, should all/most of the discs from the set she opened be off their hubs. Surprisingly, none were, but it was already too late for me to say, "You know what? Just give me that set." Well, technically, it's never too late, but I didn't want to push it. Besides, discs 2 to 6 were fine anyway. So I just took disc one from the new set and stuck it in its new home with its new brothers and sisters. They didn't seem to mind.

It might've helped that I worked at the Best Buy that I did this at the time, but I've read of other people who have also gone this route successfully.

I've noticed only one error with the set...on the back of the box, the description says that "an undefeatable demon appears, forcing Buffy to turn to an ancient Spirit Guide who tells her that love is her greatest gift--and power." I'm not going to gripe about Glory being a God and not a demon, but love being her greatest gift?? Maybe they're trying to avoid spoilers, I guess, but...it just makes it sound so...corny.
