The official "Does this movie come with an insert" thread - Part Duex

Well, Michael Corvin seems to have dropped off the face of the earth as far as this thread is concerned, so I hope he doesn't mind me taking over. Thanks for his original work, as I've copied some of his stuff below. I thought a list format would be nice, like some of the other threads we have, so as time permits, I'll update this.

So you want to know if your new/used dvd was supposed to come with an insert. Post it here. Someone will be glad to reply.

Would you like a replacement insert? Check here. You can download and print out a new one. If you can't find it there go to DVDTalk's own DVDTalk Covers & Cases forum. Post a thread of what you need. There are many talented people there that may be able and willing to help you out.

Hope this alleviates some of the threads that pop up every day asking basically the same question over and over. (i.e. was my Wallace & Gromit DVD supposed to have an insert?)

Should there be one?
Mine does on this one, too.

add new out this month Battle of Britain

Out of the last 5 latestest editios only the blockbuster Nemesis an 20,000 Laugues had inserts. Cheap beggers I own close to 1300 R1 and they don't put a insert in them for you.

I personally have have never used the inside insert unless it had a short bio. You get to know the chapters fast, insert is just excess baggage.

P.S. "Saturday Night Fever" if you want to see Manerro take over the floor, it's chapter 12. You want to see the Jackson "Stargate" ride it's chapter 16. I have a really good memory and IQ.

I thought it was a bit odd there was no insert for Old School. I can't remember the last time a Dreamworks movie hasn't had an insert. Very peculiar...

I thought it was odd as well, particularly since Old School is a major release. I almost returned mine, thinking it had been accidentally left out.

One comment - you should put the "ORANGE text means it in [sic] unconfirmed." explanation at the top of the list, so people will know what it means before they encounter it. You should also fix the typo.

Seeing this thread reminded me.....my copy of "The Howling" arrived a year or two ago without an insert. Was this disc produced without one? (I'm hoping I'm not the only person to actually buy this cinematic masterpiece. You can't put a price on being able to see Dee Wallace turn into a American Eskimo dog anytime you want!)

I bought a DVD that included a piece of paper that said "This DVD does not include an insert, but it's cheaper for us to include this message than to pay customer service reps to answer "Where is my insert" phone calls.

1984 has no insert, bought mine from Border's, so I assume this is accurate for all discs unless I got some weird copy.

Anyone buying the recent James Bond collection box set look out for missing inserts. All these releases have inserts but for some reason they are being left out. Goldfinger and Tomorrow Never Dies came without the booklets. MgM quickly fixed the problem though they sent me both replacments and a 10 doller mail in rebate on any MGM dvd bought after the post date.

Anybody want to comment on the Canadian version here?

Also, I've added another section..."Yup, It's got one". If people ask about it in this thread, I'll add it to the list.

Adaptation doesn't have an insert (although some people have reported that they received an insert, but I say they're DAMN LIARS).

My copy of Paramount's SECONDS didn't have one. I have a feeling that this was a one-off goof. Any confirmation?

Adaptation DOES NOT come with an insert. However, it comes in a clear case with the a double sided cover with the chapter listings on the back. So when you open the case you see the chapter listings though the case. I hope this puts the issue to rest.
I wish other studios would do this. It's a great idea.
