Did they change the end of Mad About You?

My wife and I were just watching a rerun of the final episode of Mad About You.

Ever since this show originally aired, we've thought it ended terribly because we thought Paul and Jamie did NOT end up together.

Imagine our surprise watching this rerun and seeing that they do get back together again!

We did a few searches and the few summaries of this show we could find didn't mention anything about a change, and describe the two getting back together again.

Can anyone confirm that the show did end on a happy note after all? We're both very perturbed that we could have been so wrong for so long!

From what I could remember they had the little spat for a while and then eventually got back together at the end of it all.

Summary

So, yes, they did get back together. I remember that part. I had forgotten how morbid and depressing the whole thing was, though. Didn't 2 characters die and Jamie have a miscarriage? Oh yeah, that's a great way to end a series...
