To be honest I don't remember any of the songs used on the show anyway. All I want is the eps.

You know, I bought Mission Hill on DVD last year and we watched the whole series over a few nights and it was only afterwards looking on Wiki for info on the show's production that I learned it had most of it's music stripped out. It's been so long since I've seen Daria that I doubt I'll notice any changes due to the music changes.

That said, I'll never understand the music rights-holders who would rather take "nothing" than "something". At the very least they get some exposure that might drive sales of catalog titles.

Sometimes it's the estate who has issues with the songs. Personally, if I was a band and they said 'Hey, we'll give you $5k to include your song in the DVD set' I'd say 'Yeah!'. I mean, it's free money! But it's never that easy...

if i was a musician...id let my music be used for free. or very little. I would be honored just to have someone actually want to use my music for something.

$5k for doing absolutely nothing seems like a good deal to me.
