Presentation - 7.0
They sure do get those dead people right. Decent menus and a simple interface (point and shoot).

Graphics - 9.0
Light years ahead of previous Deads, this is one of the better looking Xbox games. Great lighting and solid use of color. Plus you can blow holes in fat zombies!

Sound - 7.0
Unnnnnngh! Rrrrraaaah! Brrrrrains! Not much dialogue from zombies. The sound effects are minimal and the score is a bit thin, but hey, the gunshots sounds like gunshots at least!

Gameplay - 8.0
Point, shoot, kill. It's easy but it's a total blast. Addictive and easy to pick up and play at any time.

Lasting Appeal - 5.0
You can blow through the game in Normal mode in under a half hour, but it's hard to resist picking it up and playing again. The inclusion of House of the Dead II is a nice added incentive.

OVERALL SCORE - 8.1

If you loved HOD 2

Then you will love HOD 3 as well. The game is pretty damn cool. But my store didnt get the light guns yet. Hopefully in our next shipment.

Gamespot gave it a 6.4 - They sound the guns are inaccurate over 3 feet. All Madcatz stuff is crap.

Gamespot also said the graphics were technically good, but only gave them a 7 -- what on earth are they smoking over there?

btw, the local gamestop just got the game and gun in and they said the gun was $40 -- I had heard $30 earlier, can anyone confirm?

thanks,
Tuan Jim

HotD 2 is included? It would have been nice if they included HotD 1 since I believe it is currently only available for the Sega Saturn.

Yes, I think when you finish the game you get to play HoTD 2. You are right, I wish HoTD 1 is included as well b/c the Saturn rev is ugly as sin (but still play very well).

How are the graphics. Would you recommend it? Your finger had to be sore.

The graphics of HOD 3 are very vibrant, and dark. There is a hint of cel shading but its not as obvious as the early pics from the game detailed. I recommend this title to anyone who is a HOD fan, or has a love of light gun games. Mainly because this is the only light gun game on the XBox right now. I can only hope Namco decides to port Crisis Zone to the XBox, or what would really be cool is if SEGA expanded on Star Wars TRilogy Arcade and released it to home consoles.
