Question about Lowes pricematch

How does their 110% pricematch work?

If they sell it for $120 and a competitor like home depot for $100

1)
You get it for 100 minus 10% of the 120 (12) = $88

2)
You get it for 100 minus 10% of the 100 (10) = $90

3)
You get it for 100 minus 10% of the difference (10% of 10 =1) = 99$

Anyone know?

Most pricematchers go with option #3. They want to match plus a little extra for your trouble, but not too much extra.

I believe it is option 3 as well. You do have a slight math error though... the difference is $20 so you would get an extra $2 off for a total of $98.

They are correct, option 3. The 110% is of the difference. Hardly makes it worth messing with the headache, as most retailers throw an absolute hissy fit and try to worm out of their own policy. Best Buy requires you to actually purchase the item at their price and sometimes even leave the store and come back, before they will even consider it. Circuit City and a few of the office stores have actually halted this policy.

The only one I ever shopped at that made this worth your time and followed their own policy was Office Depot. They used to do 155% of the difference, but have since quit. Used to get freebies from them every now and then. I would do as much shopping there as I could to reward them for following their policy with little to no hassle.

The reason i am asking is that i am reading it as option 1 or 2 when i read it in the store.

I am asking for lowes specifically - could they be different?

They might be different. Can you post the wording of the price match policy?

I don't know... some of those people might not know the policy either . When our Lowe's were still Eagle the policy was to match plus another 10% (option 2) so maybe this is still the case.
