What CDS have you bought multiple copies of?

I'm thinking remasters, limited editon, import with extra track or with bonus track kind of stuff.

I've bought the bulk of the Stevie Ray catalog with extra tracks, Pink Floyd Dark side on multiple formats (vinyl, cassete, and several CDs)

Now they are re-releasing Tom Petty and I'll get some of those discs as well.

You?

Stevie Ray Vaughan: the Sony remasters with additional tracks
Iron Maiden: The Castle Records 2 disc re-issues with rare B sides and live tracks
Metallica: Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets gold CDs by DCC
Metallica: Original Megaforce records issue of Kill em All and the Elektra re-issue
Rush: 2112, Moving Pictures, and Signals: the MFSL ultradisc re-releases
...that's all I can think of at the moment...

There's a few to me, but the one that comes to mind first is The White Pony, by the deftones, which I have 5 different versions of.

Not a one. Never bought a CD more than once.

I have upgraded many of my old cassette purchases to CD, though. Ebay, half, and belonging to CD clubs has lessened the blow to my wallet in many cases.

I hate cassettes, though. I've upgraded a lot of them to CDs or vinyl. Out of print titles are cheaper to get on vinyl than CD.

I stopped buying cassettes altogether shortly after I got a CD player -- '89 or so. At that point, I was either getting everything on CD or vinyl. Good decision, as far as I'm concerned.

So far, I haven't felt the need to upgrade any of my vinyl albums to CD. I'm one of those freaks who thinks well-cared for vinyl sounds better than CD, so it isn't much of an issue.

Radiohead -- OK Computer
Matchbox20 -- Yourself of Someone Like You
(along those lines) Third Eye Blind -- Semi-Charmed Life
Fleetwood Mac -- Greatest Hits

All due to scratches from being played at parties.

I just re-purchased 200 More Miles - Live Performances by the Cowboy Junkies. I stupidly traded this in used about 2 and a half years ago and have regretted it ever since. In fact, it made me vow to never trade in any discs again (if you liked it once, never know if it'll mean something to you in the future). So glad to have it back...didn't realize how much I'd missed it.

Garth Brooks: Limited Series Box, Double Live
Aerosmith: Classics Live 1 & 2, Gems, Live Bootleg, & Gr. Hits (bought Box of Fire)
Christina Aguilera with bonus CD

Velvet Underground- Loaded the single and two disk
JAMC - MUNKI (lost first one)
GnR - Appetite (I swear someone keeps stealing this, so I pick it up used from time to time)

Anything else was just to replace a tape, or to pick up the vinyl copy - the transition to CD took a couple of years, I didn't have a cd player until I was in high school in the mid-90's.

Iggy & The Stooges - Raw Power
Skinny Puppy - The Process
Sinatra, Frank - Swing and Dance with Frank Sinatra

Only bought these again as they were stolen along with my car radio. I have not yet upgraded CD's like I have done/will do with DVDs.

Tori Amos:
Little Earthquakes - bought first pressing of this CD with B/W photos in liner notes and For Promotional Use Only printed by mistake on front cover. (note: no I'm not mistaking this for a promo disc- I bought this sealed in a long-box about a 2 weeks after the CD was released)
Little Earthquakes - bought the normal pressing with color photos in liner notes at a used CD store.

Under the Pink - bought on release date, given to later to a college roommate who liked the album.
Under the Pink - came with the 'unoffical' Pink Earthquakes import book.
Under the Pink and More Pink - Australian import tour CD with bonus disc of B-sides

Boys for Pele - First pressing
Boys for Pele - First pressing, won off an internet site -given to sister
Boys for Pele - New pressing with Talula (the Tornado mix) instead of the original version

To Venus and Back - Cardboard digipack packaging
To Venus and Back - Jewel Box packaging

Strange Little Girls - bought all 4 US covers

bought first release and then the re-release with bonus tracks:
Lisa Germano - Excerpts from a Love Circus
His Name Is Alive - Stars on ESP
Lucinda Williams - Lucinda Williams

And,
They Might Be Giants: I bought the first 2 albums plus the B-side album and later bought Then: The Early Years a 2 CD set with everything from those three CDs plus bonus tracks.

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense: Got the original CD then the special edition. Also the DVD if you want to count that.

I'll probably get the 2-disc Loaded eventually as well.

I've repurchased too damned many to count. The one that I STILL own the most copies of, however, is Band on the Run. I have:

The original Columbia CD from the early Eighties...

The DTS CD...

The DCC gold version...

And the 25th anniversary edition.

I also had it on vinyl way back when...
