I was going to refrain from saying anything since I haven't played the game, but the scene where you are seems.... interesting.... I guess.

When in doubt, call up people on the codec.............
But at the point your at in the game its probably not going to help one bit , even though you'll get a lot of..........."interesting"..........comments. This was one of my favorite parts in the game because it was so weird.
You have to make your way to the north upper level of the corridor. Its pretty difficult without any weapons so you'll have to rely on pure stealth. Try knocking on walls to distract the enemy and then make your move. Also in the first room if you go up the first set of stairs to the right and then on the second level, go across to the left bottom side you'll find a box (with the initions Z.O.E. incidentally) which comes in pretty handy.
Wait I just re-read your question, is the ascending colon just one long corridor, no enemies, with no exit? I think you just have to keep running back and forth and answer the codec because they do not shut up hehe. Eventually you'll trigger an important message and then you'll be able to get out....I think.
