Hi

i have a region 1 sony DVP 530d player (I had when I was in US). I did bring it to India (region 5). Can I play region ALL dvds on this (since region in india is 5!). Any modifications available? I have a multisystem convertor (in case out put is still NTSC even for Region 5 or ALL dvd's)

Any info is welcome.

Your player should play region ALL discs (sometimes called Region 0) fine, but it won't play Region 5 discs. Output will be NTSC. I'm not sure it's capable of playing PAL discs.

Sony makes it difficult to mod their players. It will require some new computer chips to be installed, and will have to be done by somebody who knows what they're doing. It's likely to be fairly expensive, certainly more than just buying a new Region 5 player.

Yeah, I can do the mod myself if I get clues about HOW TO!

As u said, I am not sure whether it will play ALL region since it is a region 1 player. Let me try it this weekend!
