Review Request: The Well

Has anyone seen or know where I can find a review of Fox Lorber/Winstar's DVD of the Aussie film "The Well"?

I e-mailed two different people at Winstar about what aspect ratio it was presented in, and got two different answers (1.85:1 & Full Screen). If anyone knows which of the two it is, I would appreciate the info.

...couldn't find a review of the DVD, but did find one of the movie itself...

...another DVD that I - fortunately - don't have to buy, regardless of whether the transfer is fullscreen, widescreen, anamorphic or not...

. . . . . .

The DVD is typical Fox Lorber bare bones 1:33 stereo. The movie is a matter of what you like. I thought it was a well acted, slow deveoping character study with a fair amount of suspense and a few unexpected twists. In the end I'm not sure exactly what happened and what was imagined by the characters.

Mike,

Despite the fact that it's 1.33:1, how's the picture quality?

Thanks.

Goemon,

The picture quality is OK. There is a blue tint to the entire movie, I assume that this is intended to add to the atmosphere of the movie and is not a mastering problem. Aside from the blue tint there is nothing in the audio or video of the DVD that draws attention to the DVD or detracts from the movie.
