I'm Officially an X-Boxer

Well it took getting up at 5:00 a.m. and trekking down to the local Best Buy (I was 19th on line) but I am now an official owner of the X-Box.

After reading all of your reviews and personal opinions, I picked up DOA3 and Madden 2002. I'm only into sports and fighting games and those two seem to be the best ones out there right now. I can always rent NFL Fever (It's always in). I'm still trying to decide if I should pick up NBA Live 2002 or wait for NBA2K2 next year.

Any thoughts?

Congrats. I say get Halo. As far as NBA2K2 goes I like the DC version so hard to say. I think both will be good games. Enjoy.

Based on what's already been released on the other systems, I can't imagine NBA 2k2 NOT dominating Live on the Xbox.

Visual Concepts is without a doubt the best basketball game developer on the planet.

I'm hearing your comments out there and they're appreciated.

I'm so in looooove with the NBA Live series that even on an off year (read as NBA Live 2000 on PS1) I still continued to play. I have to admit I was blown away with NBA 2K when it arrived on Dreamcast.

I don't know. For a new X-Boxer like myself January seems so far away.

Back to DOA3...

Congrats! I didn't know if anyone would nab one today just on the fact they could have been soldout. Glad to hear that wasn't the case.

There's another basketball game coming out for XBox that will only be on XBox called "NBA Inside Drive".

Dunno if it'll be good, but nice to have another game to choose from.

Thats cool, I hope to get one in time. I went to Best Buy this morning for the good deals, and I saw a pile of XBOXs. Then I go to Circuit City for about a half an hour, go back to Best Buy and they were gone. They must have sold like 40 at a small town Best Buy today!!!!

I saw NBA Live 2002 on store shelves today, but fought the urge to purchase it. I'll be waiting to see how NBA 2K2 turns-out before I decide on which one to get.

You didn't pick up Halo? That's the best game IMO.

You might at least rent it and see if you like it.

As I stated in my original post, I'm only into sports and fighting games. My friend is bringing Halo and Shrek for me to check out next week. On Monday I'm going to start renting games (2 for 1 at my local Mom & Pop video store... Game Boy Advance too!) to check out other games before purchasing. Here's a short list:

Amped
NFL Fever
NHL Hitz
Project Gotham Racing
Star Wars: Starfighter

In the meanwhile, I picked up NBA Live 2002 tonight. Time to power up the X-Box.

Why would you pay an additional $160 for this? After the holidays I'm sure the stores will be full of X-Boxes.

Good job, dorkpizzle (the seller).

Thank you. Tomorrow is their son's birthday, and if they are willing to pay top $ to get it there on time, then so be it. Turns out that he is an indusry insider, and I am knocking $60 off that price in exchange for his pre-release PC version of Halo. There is nothing better than an auction when everybody comes out happy.

Hey, I am going to pick up XBOX soon. Halo seems so good, what else should I get??

(Maybe I'll buy it from Bust Buy) hehehe.
