Everywhere I go someone is buying a DC...

I swear everytime I check the DC section of EB or Best Buy someone is picking up a DC.

Man I know the price is probably the biggest attraction right now but I really wish Sega got this kinda support a year ago, maybe the system wouldn't have died because of the PS2 hype.

Bummer.

yep same over where I'm at. I see people asking for the 'dreamcast' section. It's too bad I guess.

It is a shame, and the DC game section is getting smaller and smaller. Maybe they might release a few more games........

Yeah hopefully there will be a few more games. The existing library is wonderful though.

I just wanna see NHL 2k2.

It really is the best system out there right now.

People love $80 consoles. By that time the system is usually dead though. I too have seem people really hitting the DC section hard trying to get whats left. Its not a bad buy right now if you are a sports fan. The 2K2 sports titles are pretty good.

I thought about getting a DC b/c a used system was so cheap ($59!), but with Sega itself not making games for it anymore... kinda sounds like the beginning of the end. I figured I'd jump on the PS2 system, which sounds like it's on the way up, instead of a system on the way down.

I actually thought we were gonna be seeing even better deals by now as far as games, not that we haven't gotten anything good yet.

The thing is even if no new games come out, you can still find them easily on the piracy scene and with all the bandwith available these days, some people will offer these games for a long time to come and the DC has some pretty cool games. I don't even play console games but looked myself with interest to buy one!

BTW- The opinions expressed here are in no way representative of what DVDTalk stands for. DVDTalk in no way condones piracy and this is just a fact, I do not condone piracy either.

Thats surprising.....Aren't they going to keep the old games around because the X-Box will be supporting Dreamcast games?

Its been kinda hard to locate the DC games. like when I'm at Walmart I have to search for the DC games cause they are hidden with the Playstation games. I was at EB eariler today and they moved where they usually have the games at and had to search for them. The selection has gotten smaller too.

Thats wierd. My two local EB's still have pretty large sections. Circuit City had Confidential Mission and Soul Calibur. EB had Sega Rally, UFC, Shenmue, and a lot more. Best Buy had Jet Grind radio.

I guess my area is just lucky.

Actually I heard a rumor like this as well. Supposedly the idea was that in addition to the XBOX having Sega software support that it would be able to actually play DC games as well.

I think this was just a rumor though, I haven't heard any serious info on this.

That rumor that XBOX would play DC games was from a long time ago- perhaps around January. It was around the time Sega announced the end of support and rumors rose of Nintendo or MS buying Sega out.

When/if price hits $50 I'll buy myself another DC for backup purposes (still have my original launch DC!)

I too noticed this...

At my local shops I go to seems everyone wants a DC the price is unbeatable for a "dead" system, but im really glad some people are starting to see the light. Its sad that others ditched it the moment the PS2 was announced, and in a way it's also very heartbreaking. Even sadder is when people diss the Gamecube because of the N64, a lot of people do that to Sega when they mention the DC they HAVE to bag on the Saturn, its almost like a law. The Dreamcast has got a few more titles in it although they wont get released as quickly as we'd like they are coming. I decided to give you guys a temporary list (i say temporary because its subject to change) of the top 10 games im going to pick up before I make the jump to the Gamecube, and yes I also want a PS2, but only after I get the Gamecube. And to answer the question..No I will not sell any of my systems to anyone or any store. Some have called me crazy for this but...I feel like its part of history.

Top 10 Before the big jump

* (import title)

Alien Front Online
Capcom VS SNK 2-Millionare Fighting 2001* (Sept 12 baby!!)
Resident Evil: Code Veronica Complete*
Super Puzzle Fighter 2X*
Spawn
Shenmue 2
DOA 2: L.E*
Guilty Gear X*
Mark of The Wolves*
NBA Hoopz

This is what I saw:

Do I need one of these per game or one will work with all imports?
