I thought this was a very satisfying conclusion to the "Silo" series.

Good story (though the underlying concept is not particularly original). But not worth paying full-novel price for. The 180 page length listed on Amazon is misleading. There's a lot of "white space" in there (with "normal" formatting this is about a 60-70 page story).

Interesting book. Sets itself up as a psychological thriller about twisted relationships in the vein of Gone Girl and Girl on the Train. All reviews, and the book's own marketing, make a big deal about a shocking "twist" ending (it's on the cover of the book, so I'm not giving away anything here). It's a double-edged sword though ... it got me interested to give this a chance (since it really sounded like a familiar riff on other psychological thrillers). Though if you know a twist is coming, it sometimes makes it easier to spot (especially for those with genre experience). And I did guess the twist ... but not completely:

Spoiler:
Body swapping horror came quickly to me as soon as the book introduced the idea that characters could leave their bodies, and one was a psychopath who clearly was prepping the heroine for a "takeover". A weakness IMO was the main character really acted like an idiot down the stretch, making it hard to feel too sorry for her. But I will give the author props ... just when I thought I had the twist figured out, she threw in another twist at the very end that I didn't see coming (but I should have, since there were definitely clues laid throughout the book).

Linda Castillo's 'Sworn To Silence' - Somewhat derivative of your typical "small town murder" story. But, the angle of a former Amish girl now the sheriff of a small Ohio police department was different. Enjoyable read. I'm about 1/4 of the way through the 2nd book in the Kate Burkholder series, 'Pray For Silence'.
