Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

I mentioned this in the Game Awards thread, but i'm looking forward to this after not being much of a fan of the properties Telltale has tackled recently. A strong story for Bruce/Batman sounds great to me.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Could be interesting. I like the Telltale games based off of Back to the Future and The Walking Dead so I'll probably give this a try.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Very interested for sure...it should do gangbusters which I would hope it would lead to some Robin DLC or Mini-series (ala what they announced for Walking Dead). That's just the fan boy talking in me though.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

I'm curious to what era they put this in. The trailer kind of felt similar to the gothic tone of The Animated Series.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Even though this is another Telltale "push the button and make the story go" game, I'll play it for Batman.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

For the most part, I've enjoyed this style of game, so I'm down to play it. I'll probably wait until next year's Steam winter sale to get it though, since by then it'll likely be finished.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Telltale hasn't let me down exactly, but their formula has gotten a bit stale for me. I am absolutely interested in this game, but I hope they can add a little something new to the tried and true Telltale does well.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

In terms of game mechanics, after The Walking Dead: Season 1, Telltale may be the least experimental game company I can recall in recent memory. It's worse than a sports franchise at this point.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Sounds like a significantly updated engine will be used for this game and all games going forward.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/03/...9fdf654b00000d

"We've got a whole lot of new technology that's going in that you'll start to see in Batman, and Telltale games going forward [...] We have a bunch of new engineers that have been working on rendering technology - non-photorealistic rendering technology [...] but it's really cool, very much upgraded from the kinds of things that you've seen from Telltale in the past [...] It's still a Telltale game, so it'll be evolved from what you've seen before, but I think a more significant step than you've seen from any of our products in the past."
Hopefully this finally improves the way the game animates.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Not holding my breath, but this is definitely a title that should demand they do a significant overhaul of their engine.

Rendered to look like a living, breathing comic book, Telltale's vision of Batman will feature an award-winning cast of talent, including Troy Baker in the role of Bruce Wayne, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle. We'll be able to reveal additional cast and characters as the season progresses.

Hopefully it's better than Game of Thrones.

I quite liked both Game of Thrones (although it helps it's my favorite show) and Tales of the Borderlands. I got extremely bored and quit on Minecraft. I really hope with this Batman one they start changing things up at least a little bit.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Coming in August for digital, September 13 for retail.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/07/...date-announced

Warner Bros. and Telltale Games have announced the upcoming Batman: A Telltale Game Series will be premiering sometime in August as a download. Then the physical version will be out September 13.

The retail version will feature a season pass disc including the first episode, and then granting access to the subsequent four episodes as they become available for download online. If you're in Europe, you'll need to wait until September 16.

Re: Batman: A Telltale Game

Ugh, cel shading. And as much as I love the Arkham games, I'd like to see a Batman game where his costume looks a little less like super duper high tech body armor.

August 2nd for the first episode, titled Realm of Shadows. New trailer looks pretty good to me, as does the voice acting.

Hrmm, I have the physical disc for GoT and the Season pass thing was only a little quirky. But I also bought it at $15 which is probably what I'll wait for the Batman one to be at.
