Just added 7 or so today from a thrift shop for prices ranging from .99 to 1.91. Also my collection is way bigger than it should be since I blind bought a few hundred when blockbuster closed.

Crazy enough, it took me just over a year to hit 1,000. My 1,000th blu ray was Avengers: Age of Ultron steelbook. Now I just need to find a little more time watching them

If I could go back and change anything, it would be the first couple years of building up my collection when Blockbuster was running those ridiculous sales where you could get 4 or 5 movies for $20, and again during their going out of business sales where movies were only a buck or two each. I swear between those sales and the Best Buy trade and save, that is where almost half of my collection came from. So realistically I could probably trim my collection about 10% and be perfectly fine with where I'm at.

HD DVDs - had 250 and paired it down to 50.
BLU-RAYS - about 2000+ at present

Interesting thread to bump. In 2015 I claimed to have about 450. I'm still right there. I've been diligent about cleaning out the old crap off the shelf to make room for the new stuff. In fact I have another 4 BR and 2 DVD's on my desk right now which I have to get over to the library for a donation.

According to Collectorz, I currently own 1502 Blu-ray discs. I was wondering when it would become hard to find titles I want. Realistically, if you figure about 100 years of cinema, my collection has an average of 15 titles for each year. I think I will soon hit a wall before about 2000. There simply hasn't been that many great films released in the lifetime of cinema. And thankfully, since I have no desire to collect that new format, I won't be re-purchasing most of what's in my collection. Other than new releases, it will be hard to find worthwhile titles to purchase. That's why when I see these guys who claim to have collections 2 or 3 times as large, I scratch my head. You gotta dig pretty deep into the muck to own that many titles and it then becomes a game of owning anything that is released (or escapes).

Since September 2014 I've gone from 2027 to 2432, which in itself is a little misleading because it doesn't account for the 200 or more dvd's I've traded in to the local record shop after purchasing the same title on blu ray.

When I first answered this poll I had under 100, now I have over 100. DVD Profiler is acting wonky, tells me I have 10 BD Combos when I counted 10 just up to the C's, so I don't trust it to give me an accurate count. Counting them manually by title I have 149, but that's counting sets (like the Back to the Future trilogy) as one, so counting each would mean I have more than that. Also have a few 3D BD/2D BD combos (even though I don't have a 3D TV or BD player, the packaging was preferable). If I were to believe what DVD Profiler is telling me it looks like I have 193 total blu-rays.

One man's weed is another man's rose. I have more than a few in my collection as well. But I tend to do a lot of pruning. I had two titles in my cart during the Vinegar Syndrome sale, "Jack Frost" and "The Hearse" but I never completed the purchases. I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money on those two titles.

Blu-rays....probably 500-750 range. I know I need a better count, but I've been lazy on my mobile app.

DVD's...maybe a couple of hundred at the most...I've worked this down considerably in the last few years to where it is only TV sets and DVDs that have no other option.

4k's...I think I counted 25 at this point.

I really don't like the fact I don't have an accurate count..where as even 5 years ago, I could have told you exactly how much I have in every format. But now I have a two year old and faced with watching a movie and counting my discs and I'm going to chose the former every time.

Over 4000 BDs, 300 or so HDDVDs, and around 80-90 4K titles.

I had around 2000 dvds but sold most of them off except various TV shows and special interest titles.
