Re: What Are You Reading? (May 2017)
Binging on Taylor Anderson's Destroyermen series and Robert Crais's Elvis Cole/Joe Pike books.
Anderson's writing style drives me crazy at times...he relies more upon ellipses than anyone I've ever seen (besides myself ). And he tends to recap in each book far too much, and can go long stretches with very little plot progression.
Nonetheless, I find the characters, though somewhat cliched, strangely addictive and compelling. It's one of those series that you keep thinking while reading, "This would make a great HBO series."
In fairness, it seems that it's one of those originally planned as a trilogy that the author kept going after the books caught on with the public. I'm on Book 4 (of twelve so far), and hopefully it's just transitioning from the original tightly-plotted books to an expanding alternate reality fantasy universe. Think GRRM with GoT Bks. 4 & 5.

Finished:
The Late Bloomer: A Memoir of my Body by Ken Baker
I loved this. One of the best non-fiction books that I have read in quite some time. I highly recommend it.
Started:
The Last Apprentice: Rise of the Huntress by Joseph Delaney
